How would you guys rate Reincarnation value?

I am a returning player (about 2 years away).

When I left, Racial PLs were sort of new and I have done WF, Dragonborn and Human x3

I am not a triple Heroic completionist, and I have x3 on one all the Destiny Spheres, but I don't have all x3 for everything I want (some are new). I have also never done an Iconic PL.

I want the Fast Healing one from Primal Epic Destiny (currently at x1 on that) and I want the +5 Healing/Repair and Negative Amp from Divine Sphere (also x1).

Also there are a few Heroic PLs I want to get to x3.

I was thinking that I should pair some Iconic PLs with Heroic PLs and maybe hit 30 x2 for Epic PLs.

Or should I just keep doing Racial PLs for the Racial AP?

Racial AP open up builds not otherwise available. That's why I value them higher than any other past life at the moment. The +attributes is nice but the extra racial AP open up options.

Racials are a huge time sink.. three heroic lives for each racial action point (the real value of racial PLs IMO) is a slog, versus the Iconic +3x epic past lives which are really quick. Ultimately, you'll end up doing both probably. Doing a few rounds of each and switching helps to offset the repetition and boredom to some extent...

This is a good plan. Get the most useful iconic stance and/or passive for your favorite build(s). And PDK is universally useful as a mini sprint boost (and PRR never hurts either).

Like Phatlewts said, racials are a soul-crushing grind, unless you *really* like heroics.

The payout is entirely back-loaded. You need A LOT of racial lives before you start to notice the extra APs. By the time it really opens anything up you're at completionist.

BUT.

All total completionist(epic, iconic, heroic, racial) does add a huge amount of character power. I don't know if its "worth it", though.

Yep I feel a bigger amount of racials is mostly for people who love heroics more than epic & legendary or buy boxes or have a huge amount of time and patience.


Epic PL and Reaper points give more bonus per time spent until you are down to the less useful epic PL or get to the high reaper points.

Everything is either heavily back-loaded or has a weird slump in the middle. Its actually kind of annoying.

Heroic PLs - you get more build points per life for the first 2 levels which is a nice boost. Then some of the lives do actually give some useful bonuses. And then... things just kind of slip into a slog until you hit Completionist.

Racial PLs - HEAVILY back-loaded. The stat point bonuses for the second life would be worth more if so many of them weren't dex.

Iconic PLs - most of them are useless, its all a slog and there is no "iconic completionist", strictly epeen.

Epic PLs are about the only PL slog with a decent reward curve. Each EPL is pretty useful and gives you a "stance" 3 of which are actually pretty good.

Reaper... I dunno. I've hit a wall whereby earning more points is such a cruel mockery of fun that I can't be bothered.

Heroics, completionist is good, but a lot of work. After that, 3x of the most useful heroics is good value.

Combining heroics with iconics is good value, 15-30 is faster than 1-20.

Reaper points are fairly easy to get at cap if you group up. But it will be frustrating for quite some time as you'll be underpowered. Playing support (spell singer bard; divine for healing) can help a little. Or ranged and stay back avoid aggro.

RP power is frontloaded. Eventually you'll reach a point where RP give less than a pastlife (4hp and nothing else useful vs 10hp barbarian PL for example) and start to take almost as long too.

Racial PL's are the best bang for the buck in the game atm. The skill,stat and AP boost just blow anything you can get out of Heroic Completionest out of the water. Like you I got back from a long 5 year break and im now grinding out racials in our guild static group on my secondary toon. My main im raiding atm and having fun at cap, until I get what I want gear wise then its onto the racial pl treadmill.

I would first get all the epic past lives because first it's WAY faster and the passive buffs they give will make racials easier. Then I would do racials for the extra AP then iconics with all the extra points getting heroic and iconic past lives at once. Once all that is done I would do the buy classes that will never get an iconic due to $$$ and then I'd start doing archetypes, waiting to see if the rest of the normal classes would get iconics. Or I'd be dead because this will take a normal person decades
