Post OGL dramma :what do I think of this big mess

    [ING]

Personally from what I'm seeing and hearing about this big problem with OGL, I think it's just the worst way to start the year with one of the most famous and loved brands of all time D&d, I'm mostly not referring to DDO per se DDO I don't think it will have any problems from this big mess... however it scares me and creates great doubts about the future of the brand per se, creation of new content, video games and other content related to D&d... D&d for me it's a universe full of possibilities that has always made me travel with fantasy and imagination and it's thanks to D&d that I've discovered things like (videogames more than anything else) Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Night's and DDO precisely and the paper board game ( although I've only ever played the board game very little (I've had some experience with it in the past), I hope that anyway this brand won't die and whatever happens WoTC will continue to create new content for D&d and bring new players into this does ntastic universe.it must be said that we are now in an era where capitalism is increasingly evident and its grip is inevitable, it is always frustrating to see that small entrepreneurs, companies or Indy developers are finding it increasingly difficult to establish themselves at times, not always it is easy establish itself as a company nowadays in videogames or other fields, unfortunately if you are not an expert in the sector you do not go very far, however it is disgusting when large companies sometimes try to take other people's ideas without permission and make them into own ideas, without giving any credit to the person who created the original content per se, this is what I understand from this new OGL that Hasbro/WoTC wants to implement, personally I also agree that it is not right and I understand the frustration of many... but on the other hand, going to play other things (Patfinder etc) is not a good excuse to give WoTC a say in changing the OGL, to me it seems more like a whim from b children (or at worst which I think some have done) turn their backs and forget about D&d once and for all without even trying to fight...if these people are true D&d lovers they wouldn't wash their hands and turn away shoulders without looking back... personally, if there's something I don't like, I would fight to the end even if I admit it, it's not always easy to be heard by others and sometimes you could lose hope... however, I think it's anyway it's right to fight then everyone can decide what they like, we are human beings after all and everyone can decide what to do with their life then if you like to play something else that's fine, but it's only right that... in cases like these, if you they change something I don't find it nice to turn away and forget about the years and years spent behind something you love, sometimes this can hurt yes it's true... seeing your game that seems to be dying is sometimes not pleasant, but it's not for this you have to wash get my hands on it and go on, sometimes I love to see videos and updates of games that I haven't played since then via youtube or twitter, but I don't always forget about it and don't think about it anymore, so to conclude, I sincerely hope that eventually end of this story anyway D&d will not die in any way and WoTC will continue to create new content.

Personally I hope the brand dies, and WoTC/Hasbro lose everything. Evil Corp must go.

I did not edit this to be the grammar police, in fact there are still some grammar errors. I only adjusted it to make it more easy to read and/or parse for others. I agree with many of the OP's sentiments. I will be really surprised if WotC manages to steal other people's creative works by retroactively changing the licensing. (Using the common car example) Basically it would be like Toyota telling people they can enter the factory and make whatever they wanted, its theirs. And then a few years later saying they changed their mind Vader-like, coming by and taking all the successful car designs and the cars themselves, selling new cars made by those designs then telling the people that created them to go pound sound and by the way they have to buy their own car back. Wouldn't that be against labor laws somewhere if not against intellectual property rights?

So can you help me fix it? I admit I really care about this speech because let's be honest D&d made the history of RPGs in general not only of the TTG, so if you give me a hand to correct I would be happy, so everyone will understand.

Perché non scrivere in italiano e farci tradurre? Forse più del tuo sentimento sara preservato.

Let me clarify, I hope Hasbro/WotC and their leadership dies (figuratively), and someone that actually cares about the brand takes ownership.

Sometimes in some forums it is mandatory to use a certain language rather than another, usually I have always translated everything I write with google transalte but I think google is starting to lose hits and it doesn't let me translate things well.

I don't know Hasbro/WoTC are still two big companies and it's unlikely that the worst will happen and I don't think this thing is a big deal for Hasbro... I think that somehow they will do everything to try to regain the players' trust.
