Returning player looking for a build

Last played heavily during Masterminds of Sharn, looking to get back into the game

Character currently has Heroic Completionist, +8 Tome and a small handful of reaper points
Account has all of the expansions, classes/iconics/races
Have a mixture of some Sharn & Eveningstar gear but nothing outstanding

Ideally after a build that is able to solo most things on Elite, not too fussed on clearing traps but would like a good ammount of self healing

Personally leaning towards a melee build as I dont seem to really gel with casters

Did you get a PL for Alchemist? (I ask b/c MoS was well before Alche came out - unless the operative word above is "heavily", and you snuck an Alche life in there since.)

Yup, finished the alchemist life over the last few days. Im currenlty sat in a caster Cleric life (Strimtom's HC7 one)

I suggest you play what you like. Casters do get all the glory and melees the crumbs. Often times you find yourself swinging at mid air. The situation has improved somewhat with hp buffs and fighter second wind. As a ranger I adapted by using my bow more and saving my swords on crowns and bosses. Two person groups are the best because that’s where your build can really shine.

You can also make a super tough Zerg build and abuse speed; though this might annoy people or if you want a level playing field hcl has a month left.
