Default Isle of Dread sound Bug

Hello! Has anyone found a fix to this bug that isn't switching to the 32 bit client? Currently the raptors in isle of dread and in general, crash my game about 40% of the time. I have turned off ambient sounds and battle sounds which fixed it for awhile but seems to be crashing again with any sound turned on. Oddly this wasn't an issue for me until after they updated with one of the hot fixes about 4 weeks after the expansion. I have checked for updates to drivers and firmware.

    Specs:
    9900k
    Evga z390 dark
    Evga 3090 FTW3 ultra
    Nu Audio sound card
    Sennheiser closed back headset.

I wish they would figure this out already. Newest expansion crashing due to sound is not a great look. Thank you.

The only fix I saw was foe a few people who were using USB headsets having no more issues when they switched to speakers or audio jack headsets or different model of USB headsets. It seems the issue they had was specific to the chipset of the usb audio controller in their headset.

i heard that beside what you tried already, turning some audio off, having eax disabled in audio game options can sometimes help.
    storage solution suggestion: Collection

omni-cosmetic system suggestion: Arbiter d'Phiarlan, the Weaver of Guises

I'd be interested to find a solution as well; a friend of mine has to disable his sound for any content that has raptors, since they crash his client otherwise. It all started when they updated all raptors in the game to use new sound effects, even ones in Sharn.

So I recently bought IoD and have this problem with Raptors too. So far what I have narrowed it down to is whenever the raptors make a roar attack and I am close enough to see, hear and be the target of it my game crashes straight to desktop. Turning off ambient sounds seems to help in the explorer but I still crash in any quest that has raptors I am having a lot of buyers remorse right now I cannot believe they let this bug linger this long.

Turn off Bluetooth. It is not a permanent fix, obviously, but it works for me for now. Wire everything or use non-Bluetooth USB peripherals. It was not enough to turn off the devices that connect by BT; I had to disable BT to keep the client from crashing due to the sound bug. After turning off BT, all sounds work again.

    The specs of my rig:
HP Omen Laptop with regularly patched drivers and OS
Logitech wireless headset using the USB adapter

I gave up my BT mouse and the BT connection to the Logitech headset.

    Default Logitech Gpro 2

unplugged my Logitech G pro 2 wireless mouse and stopped crashing when near raptors. What a very odd bug.
