Question Cosmetic gear preview broken ?

    Hello,

is it just me (and my PC, of course), or is the DDO Store's cosmetic gear (armor) preview function broken ?

Because, on my PC, when I click on the tiny clothes hanger symbol, I get pushed to the desktop, where an empty window opens, and that was it.

I have turned my system to use the browser named "Vivaldi" as the system's standard web browser.

    Any ideas ?

Besides, do pictures of these cosmetic items exist in the internet elsewhere ? In the Wiki, maybe ?

"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

It's never just you in DDO lol get the same here used to work then get the window on mine as well store opens no problems in game, only preview function does that for me. On a positive note I don't notice loading screens hanging as much with so much other stuff not working.

Well, I've found that I can help myself a bit with Wiki entries : https://ddowiki.com/page/Cosmetic
Though, these are not store items which are displayed there.

It is several years since the preview was broken.

Hm, it seriously worked for me only a few months ago ... I suspect it was because then I still had the Internet Explorer as a standard ... Perhaps the game expects that ?

Cosmetic preview hasn't worked in quite some time now. I wanna say a year but may be longer.

    ... Then it's longer than I had imagined ...

... So, I basically have to buy cosmetic items "blind", so to say ? That's not very good for boosting sales in the cosmetic items department , I'm afraid ...

... The Wiki seemingly doesn't show store items, only glamered items from actual loot ...

It has been many years. I want to say since they made some changes to cosmetics so they worked on both fleshies and WF when they started adding cosmetics to expansions with Ravenloft, but not 100% sure that was when it broke.

Still works for me. I only play female characters but if there is anything you specifically want to see maybe I could try it on and post an image for you?

    Thumbs down

They are on sale, so I am tempted to buy a few that look interesting.

Except, I have no idea what they look like. So I won't buy one. Lost sales due to store bug.

Since it still works for me (I was looking at them just yesterday) I have to think this is some bug that is dependent on particular graphics cards or something of that ilk.

My current theory is, that the in-game shop - which might be still based on awesomium - fails to deliver certain parameters to the game itself. I could even imagine a firewall block that, because it's basicaslly a weg program delivering parameters to a game ... and anyone knows ghow dangerous this can be.

In my case, it ceased to work when I changed my OS' global web standards from being performed by the Internet Explorer to my currently favourite one called Vivaldi.
