Force's Point WIA?

Hello, I am an eldritch knight (Wiz), and I like to use acid fog/cloudkill/acid rain during my fights to up my Force's Point: Physical, while also swinging my weapon to up the magical one as well.

However, I have been noticing something rather peculiar about it. Whenever I use the DoT AoE spells like fogs and acid rain, it does add to my physical count for each time the enemies inside get hit with the damage, but it appears that whenever my character moves out of the AoE's radius, all stacks of the Force's Point: Physical are removed instantly. I am wondering if this is a bug or if it is WIA.
