Default Regarding storage ... is there any further research being done ?

    Hello,

the new possibilities to upgrade the ban storage are just great. I like them.

However, I always come to a point where I think : "Can I make a glamer of this fine looking item, or will I have to fear that it consumes even more storage ?"
Or, in other words : I'd like to glamer quite a lot of nice items - but they all consume precious inventory space, too !

Which leads me to the question : Is there any further research currently being done to ... kind of expans the storage space ?

My personal dream is still to have an entirely different starage space for everything cosmetic - items which come from pack bundles, for example. Which often fill up space even after creating a new character.

Of course, I'm a hoarder, always thinking things like : "This random item has something I cannot craft yet - I'd better keep it !" And getting into high levels of crafting ist simply ... a chore.
Plus, I kind of hoard items simply because they look fine. I'd like to glamer them, but glamered items consume the same slot as the original items, so I gain nothing, so to say.
If I had - for example - a bag only for cosmetic items, then this spac could have been freed.

Another example are the Greensteel related Shards Of Power. They are still BTC, and, what's worst, aren't even stackable. And that's true for several other items as well, like Adamantine Ore, for example (if I recall that correctly).

So, I wonder : Is there some more reaearch going on regarding the (possible ? or impossible ?) expansion of storage space ?

Supposedly the bank "upgrade"(if you can remotely call it that) was going to make it possible to add a lot more BtC storage. I wouldn't call the 40 more slots the sold us at a vastly inflated price "a lot" but there is some.
If I can read the dev tracker, you can too.

At this point, I'd be happy if they put extra character slots on sale. (When was the last time they did that?!)

Nothing more character slots can solve better than shared characters housing/store front.

Basically the game sells your account a set of real estate in one of the public zones.

    1. One of your characters took the deed, and with some levels in Cannith Crafting begin to layout a floor plan.
    2. Character builds the house according to the floor plan with some days in execution.
    3. Character buys some furniture, traps and decorations for the building.
    4. Character puts storage inside the real estate.
    5. Character may setup store front using that real estate. The things that are listed in the store front also lists in the astral shards auction house, but the store only shows (filter out) the items of that account.
    6. Other players may play as "rogues", "thief", "high-tech vagabonds" to steal some of the item(s) from that store front and is subject to encounter traps in that real estate and also the sum of all of that accounts character controlled by DDO as guards in team PvP.
    7. Store front owner may define which of the accounts' character guards which entrance/area or altogether in the living room.
    8. If the stealer wins the tournament, the stealer gets an item from the store front randomly. If the stealer does not win the tournament, the stealer loses an item from inventory or current equip. If there is nothing in inventory and nothing equipped, the stealer loses a defined (default) amount of plat or astral shards. If the stealer broke (i.e. no plats nor shards) then an experience penalty deducts a set amount of experience.
    9. Stealer may not attempt to steal from the same store front or house in 2.5 days real time or a set cool down.
    10. Stealer is to report annual stolen goods on their tax forms as income to the Coin Lords.

Except for the pesky detail that we have slots now.

They should get rid of anything BTC.. just be done with the concept.. there is no reason to have stuff BTC.. I mean you you earn something , its yours.. your account is yours.. everything on that account, on that server.. you earned..so any character you make should have access to it.

One could argue some kind of point, but this game has been out way too long, and BTC serves no purpose. I d like to see them get rid of the TR cache, and make one big Shared bank with a default of like 2 or 3 thousand slots by default if not more. and maybe buy some more etc.. or earn more by favor , buying expansions.. etc..
Its ridiculous to have to empty a TR cache , when you could just get everything off of you and into shared bank space.

Absolutely no thank you. I consider those to be horrible ideas.

Just add a Lotte more svarede bank space. There is no reason to complicate matter when a simple solution will do nicely.

Let me put it like this : I'd buy many more glamer items (items to glam armor with) if I had more space just for cosmetic items. Separate space, if possible.

And yesterday I got another shard of power from DA. I'm running out of space with that because it's both BTC and it doesn't stack, too. Plus, Greensteel is so complex I don't even understand the basics.

Yes please continue work on storage.

Note that players having many mule alts probably adds to server lag, the constant log in and out which eventually causes freezes.

A quick fix could be making bank extensions cheaper, especially shared bank. And then continue to add more storage.
