Heroic lord of blades solo question

Hi, i have tried to solo lob heroic for arti favor. ( warlock 30)
At the fight i destroyed all the pillars as soon as they became targetable.
But lord of blades didnt die, as if the pillars were intact. And i killed him four more times, hoping that he will eventually die,
But he didnt. So i ddored out.
I am positively sure that there was no intact pillars around the platform.

Is there another machanic that i am not aware of , beside destroying the pillars?
Are there any "hidden" pillars?
Do i have to wait to destroy the pillars only when he is at 5%?

Every pillar have 2 targetable spot: upper and lower. You destroying both?

This is my question, when you say " i destroyed all the pillars as soon as they became targetable." This is confirmed both tops and bottoms?

I know you have to knock him down at least once to progress.
