Tomes what to do with them

I have been playing since almost the beginning of the game, and with all the past life's and releveling I have garnered a lot of tomes. It should be noted these are bound to account or to character. They take a lot of slots in both banks. Surely there is something besides a few crafting items, (that most of us will never use) we could use them for. Perhaps let us eat them with our weapons or turn them into treasure pot's.

There has to be something, we can't even sell them.

The only things that I know are to turn them into Purified Eberron Dragon shards and then use them in Cannith Crafting.

The other thing is to roll up alts using the same account and give these tomes to the newly created alts.
Wanna try the new archetypes but think they are bad without tomes? Well, here is your chance...

Personally, I have all used them up for crafting except given that +7 Intelligence tome to my banking WF bot, which is used occasionally to run some earlier Epic raids while my other characters are on timer.

I tend to use them for the purified eberron shards to make unbound cannith crafted weapons that are great for early heroics, with a combination of decent power & versatility. The formula I generally go for;
ML4, so they'll be +2 & the damage dice on the effects will be 2d6 each.
special material type: adamantine, flametouched iron or blueshine for DR bypass or durability
1st effect: light/force/sonic damage are all really good since they're not often resisted, holy for /good bypass if it's not flametouched iron already
2nd effect: slashing/piercing/bludgeoning damage
at least 1 augment slot, throw in a +2d6 ruby augment, 2 if possible

Ideally, go for weapon types that will match up with specific abilities & trees. A club or pick with the above stats is solid, but a shortsword, handaxe or light mace with those stats would be great for a swashbuckler, a crossbow for an inquisitive, any of the knight's training weapons for paladins etc.

They sell pretty well, if for a relatively modest price, in the ASAH to help raise funds.

Me too. I finally broke down, bought the 0 to +1 tomes from the store with some leftover points I had and used them on my main.

I totally agree they shouldn't be bound period so we could trade or sell those we can't use.

He's talking about the unbound cannith crafted weapons he makes not the tomes.

We know you can use them for crafting. I have no need of them for crafting, I have more than enough purified shards.

The tomes should be Unbound, or, if on a second + life, should be upgrade tomes or something else offered in their place.

Currently the only options we have are:

1. Use the Tome
2. Convert Tome to Crafting material
3. Deep 6/Round file

I agree there should be more options for unused tomes
1. Sell BTA/BTC tomes - small amount of Astral Shards/DDO Points/CoV/CoH (amount based on bonus)
2. Turn in for Dust that after a certain amount could be traded for a Tome of Various types (Attribute/Skill/ED/etc) - similar to Cosmetic Gear
3. Trade in for a different Tome - maybe a way to convert Upgrade tomes to Static Tome - say +1 to +2 can be traded for a +1 Tome etc.
