I cheesed through a couple of classes in another way. There is a page that specifies the priority of classes. I then used that table to get 10 levels of a class that I liked running, warlock, and then 10 levels of the class that I basically wanted to skip. Since the counts are 10 vs 10, the priority table indicates which class will be credited at TR. You can still take all the enhancements from your favored class, and spend some/most of the skill points on that favor class. But you may miss out on the feats. I did not use that life for an ETR since the character was somewhat gimped.

You cannot do with trick with all combos. Some classes have alignment restrictions that prevent multiclassing this way.

    DDOWiki, Search "dominant class"

    o https://ddowiki.com/page/Past_Life_Feats#Dominant_class

A Warlock 10/X 10 template is plenty strong to get you through to 20 (doubly so if you have a guild or PUG a lot!). If you are pairing w/ a class that can add to that DPS (and a few do), so much the better.

    Hmmm... don't believe that's true.

Warlock takes precedence over Alchemist, but that's not "alignment" based, it's just how the order works (so you'd have to do a 9 Lock/11 Alch).

Both Fey (Sonic) and Storm (Cold) Warlocks have no alignment restrictions, and Celestial (Electric) can be Lawful and/or Good (so Monk and Pali are both on the table). Of those, pro'ly Fey is the best option, followed by Celestial, but ymmv.

And any can be "non-lawful", so that's covered.

Actually, in heroics, Monk is amazingly strong. So much so that I'd highly recommend trying it as a "first melee". It doesn't have issues until Epics and especially in higher reaper where it's low MRR cap can only be fixed with extreme over-gearing. It's far more true-to-paper in heroics where it actually fits the theme of a can-do melee that doesn't require gear.

Monk is so strong in newbie land that in order to quickly farm TOEE Epic Weapons, I rolled up vet-instant L7 monks and solo'd TOEE with them for the story arc reward using only it's birthday gear. This was back when the story arc rewards for TOEE were very buggy and capped chars would always get Heroic items from the arc. So, it was pointless to run it on my capped char. There was something about 1st time reward, too -- can't recall details, but for whatever reason it gave consistent results whereas my capped chars would get heroics for the arc whether they ran it on epic or heroic.

Points conceded. I was attempting to offer a strategy that did not require the purchase of an LTR item.

I am working through my 2nd character to completion. I am running each life to 30 to ETR/TR. I am running class first to get that out of the way, as the different classes has the most variaty of gear. Once that is done and I settle on a build, I will be doing racial completion (only need to change armor for warforged).

I found the easiest way to do these is to do a variation of the same build. I went a THF melee style, as that worked well with most classes. EK wiz/sorc, Cleric, FvS, Paly, Warlock.. Switch to a Qstaff for Rogue and Monk, Warchanter for Bard.. Barb and Fighter are really easy... Only class that does not fall in line too well is arti.

Will all these builds be uber.. no. Not by a long shot. But will they get you though R1 all the way to 30, yes. Its a LONG grind though. If you figure 1-30 in a week of solid play time, that is 15 classes to level (1 each for bare minimum.. some you would want to do 3x) and 42 racial lives (14 races x3). So 57 weeks of solid playing (or a little over a year). Its a grind for sure.

Magic is a curious thing; full of hope and promise one minute, then someone summons a t-rex jet fighter to kill you.
