    Default Dazling's Night Revels Guide

Hello, this is Dazling. I recently made a Night Revels Guide video that hopefully people will find interesting. To differentiate it from other Night Revels guide type videos, it has a more generalized focus on what challenges to run depending on your resources and goals, what items are useful to get, and how to get resources such as chocolates and keys, while focusing on being short and succinct. There are also videos showcasing each of the challenges in the description for anyone who wants to see how to run Night Revels challenges.

(As good a place to put this as any...)

    Questions for OP & all:

If you're going to do the Graveyard run for keys, what is the best +CR for that?

    (I've been doing it @ +5, ~seems~ to be working well - ~2-3 keys/7 minutes. https://forums.ddo.com/forums/showth...=1#post6546982)

Afaik, from cr-4 and higher, the drop rate of keys in graveyard remains the same. Any lower and you decrease or completely nullify key drop rate. So to maximize keys per minute, run at cr-4 (eg if highest lvl person in group is level 20, run it at 16) to increase kill speed. If your kill speed is the same at cr-4 as it is at cr+5, go for +5. The end reward just gives chocolate, no keys. Running at cr+5 maxes the chocolates, but does not affect keys.

The more people in the instance, the more mobs spawn, therefore more key chances. Also, multiple people can split up to clear the area more quickly. However, while the total number of mobs increases with extra players, the number of mobs *per player* decreases. So if the (non-bot) people in your party are piking, you are better off without them.

Opinions vary a bit, but all reports I've seen over the last few years suggest that key drop rate is not affected by CR.
My personal, not necessarily representative anecdotal experience: My first for runs were at level (Lvl 10 character, CR10) and got me exactly 1 key per run. The next was at CR8, and I got 5 keys.
Arguably, lower CR is better because you can kill things quicker. As long as you aren't seeing the "This monster is too weak for rewards" message, you should be fine.

A few years ago(!), if you were not "near" the person who made the kill, you had a MUCH lower % to get a reward (chocolate or keys) - any idea if that anything in that direction holds true this season? (If so, "splitting up" may hurt % chances, vs. staying tighter as a single group.)

Thanks for the feedback! Going to respond to all of your comments in this one since I got here a bit late. Personally I run at +5 and usually pull 1-2 (sometimes 3 or more, sometimes 0) keys per Graveyard run. I've heard people say they've had better success on -4, on equal CR, and on various other CRs, personally I like doing +5 for the simplicity. If your clear speeds are faster at lower CRs I'd probably try dropping some and seeing how the drop rates feel, but pretty much any endgame caster nuker will have movement speed be the limiter in my experience.

I actually have 5 alternate accounts I've brought in some to help with pulling keys for myself since I take my Revels very seriously, in my experience they don't seem to lower my drop rates for my main character if I park them at the entrance. However, I'd say between the 5 alt accounts they probably get about 2-3 keys average per run, distributed across all 5 of them: so while it's an x2-x3 multiplier for my overall key gain, you're much better off sticking with the pack if you're actively playing. That's comparing between sitting at the entrance doing nothing and actively killing everything solo though, so I'm not sure what the rates are like between those two extremes (for example, "splitting up"). I typically solo or solo 6 man farm graveyard, but if I was in a pick-up group I'd probably have everyone stick together to do the circuit since it's pretty efficient as is, the only splitting I'd possibly do is if one person wanted to be semi-afk and have somewhat reduced key drops, I could see parking someone at the entrance to Delera's Crypt to instantly finish the 3rd and 5th star being a decent time shave.
