Really good modified quests and while it is definitely something of a grind it has superb cosmetics and wonderful augs. Anyone who hates on Night Revels is just a wad of ****.

The Ruby of Ghostbane is my favorite.

I do the cosmetics as well, but after re-stocking augments and such.

My 2 favorites are Kobolds New Ring Leader and Haverhashered. I enjoy the sound bites in all of the challenges. Campy fun IMO.

Here is a group cosmetic photo after I got new hats for my challenge farmers (back six). Livmo is sitting the front and my L4 Con based dwarf took the shot.

Edit they're all getting one of these this year!

I am surprised no one mentions the best benefit of night revels…

Fast and easy exp. Whether it’s epic or heroic, do the highest level you can Zerg on each quest, once a life for 5/6 stars and some are even worth repeating. Especially epic xp, it’s so tasty, especially in a fast group. I always look forward to night revels to grind out PLs I still need. And it’s worth doing highest difficulty for the double experience.

Heck yeah! Best way to farm is to get XP while doing it. One of the better ways to reduce the grind is to work on multiple goals at the same time. Loot/XP together is better than doing 1 at a time.

+1 ive done this in the past with revels, its a great way to grind some epic past lives and earn a few shards while youre at it! If you have the time. I wont be doing it this year but ive done it in the past.

Night Revels is a lot of fun, but since a few of you are gushing about experience...

Within the last few days I have seen people playing hard, trying their best in long, difficult fights, suffering quite a few deaths, and getting zero experience. None. I have seen people trying very hard get completely skunked on ingredients. I have seen the person leading the kill count get skunked on ingredients and almost no experience.

The developers need to publish the rules for challenge experience and ingredient payouts. The DDO-Wiki article on the subject is a mess. I know these rules exist to prevent power leveling. Fine. However, you really need to make the rules crystal clear so that low time players--good, hard working people--are not repeatedly skunked.

The Night Revels advertisement published by Standing Stone Games should be amended to include this information. Please. This matters.

Edit: To be clear, this post is not a complaint about legendary Night Revels not awarding experience. I know that is a bug, Lynnabel fixed it, and the repair will come soon, perhaps in the pending hot fix. Since joining a real guild, I am seeing things through new eyes. My intent here is to make everyone aware of a communication issue that, if resolved, would improve the play experience of numerous players.

It's worth noting that the challenge mob HP scales up a lot at CR 30+

So if you're doing this in epics, preferably do it at lvl 20-24 and hold levels until you have to take 25. Because then you don't have to do over CR 29 for full rewards. Doing CR 30+ can be time comsuming if you don't have have a very high dps build. (both single target and AOE).

Best to get a group if you do CR30+

It gets better at lvl 29+ with legendary gear.

I find level 20-24 to be my sweet spot. Already leveled 2 toons from 20-24. I ER'ed before this event to level up and save the slayer zones for when the event is over.

Farming keys my toons get between 18-20k xp per run. Once I have enough keys I snag the 1st time XP from the challenges. After that I farm mats along with the XP to 24.

I try to bank to 26, when I shift gear.

4 level spread and you are fine. Do not join an LFM with a range more than this. There is a fixed amount of ingredients per quest, and experience is based on stars earned. A 6th star is earned at CR37 and adds a 50% boost to experience. Now if you go 5 levels difference you lose 50% experience and all experience at 6 levels or more difference, irregardless of quest level. Ingredients I think has a bigger spread before reduction occurs, but I am not sure. What I have noticed is that if you arent 32 and run CR37, you get half of what a level 32 would get.

This follows the heroic power levelling model ultimately, the same as other challenges.

I usually do heroics at CR25-27. The sweet spot is level 18 and you should hit heroic cap.

But if you need epic past lives, try and do a group for CR37 if you cant solo. The sweet spot is level 28 and you should hit epic cap.

This gives you the best bang for your buck.

    Thanks for the pro tip!

I goofed on Liv and ment to ER only, but ER then TR to get last barbie PL out of habit. Dang I sure can run fast! I made it back to L19 at the start of Revels. This will give me the juice to get over the top and back into epics!

And Keezer got the cloak already
