    If it is an USB headset, it effectively has it's own soundcard built in.
    Different manufacturers and models often use different chipsets, so changing headsets could mean a change of hardware. If only some chipsets are affected by this sound issue it would explain why it has been so hard for the Devs to track down what is going wrong.

    Yes. I've got a 2015 USB Turtle Beach headset. I've never had a problem like this before but I could see how something in the IoD update might have caused the issue. I never saw it prior to actually buying the x-pac and trying to use it.

    I've been planning to buy a new headset for awhile because my current one has a severe Vork problem. I'm going to put it off though until I've nailed down what is causing this particular bug. Don't want to present a moving target for the bug fix.
