FvS, Cleric, Bard, Wiz, Sorc, Alchemist or maybe even Warlock.

You may want to be more specific

Top tier are Alchemist, Sorc, Druid. (probably in that order)

Alchemist has the highest dcs, and best cc options, as well as high AOE damage and some healing.
Sorc has the highest single target dps (cold), but no healing options and has the highest gear/past life requirements to make it work well.
Druid has limited cc and slightly less damage, but much better healing and minimal gear/past life requirements.

FVS is also very good as a well rounded build, but not quite as easy as druid.
Cleric is an inferior FVS with turn undead.

Wizards and warlocks still function well as dc casters with some damage.

I've seen some decent bard casters, but haven't tried it myself, probably similar to fvs.

I am looking to learn and havent played Alchemist much. Which CC options for Alchemist are better than Mass Hold, Web, Greater Prismatic Spray and BoGW for Sorcs?

I am playing a bard caster at the moment. High dc on Mass Hold, excellent healing (core 4 in Fatesinger is superb) and decent dps. Mine is a spellsinger, I havent done Stormsinger yet. I can certainly recommend a caster bard if you like being very well rounded and do not need to be top of the kill count always but still do well on kills.

Glue bomb from range generally works better than web.
Flash Freeze + Flesh to Gold mass works on more targets than mass hold.
GPS and BoGW can be taken on alchemist as well.

While the ease of ranged mass hold vs alch rotation is a bit of a style preference, the main advantage is only needing 2 spell schools, compared to 4-5 on an arcane.

How high your DCs have to be for the highest level quests, Reapers 6 to 10?

I did a video on r1 sharn archers tested for saves. You can watch it here:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VExw7HF1n4A

The listed saves are no fail. so if your 98 for reflex and 107 for fortitude you are in the no fail zone.

You can extrapolate the dc need for higher reapers as the mobs get about 1.5 save per skull.

This would mean reflex save for sharn archers at reaper 10 would be 1.5*9+98=111.5

    and 120.5 for fortitude.
