I won the random login award, logged in with none else live on Cannith - and it was officially a rollback.

I work on code that's half as old as DDO (7-8 years) and it takes our team sometimes WEEKS to fix issues (spaghetti code, all kinds of bad practices right from the start of the project).

It's a miracle DDO has such little downtime.

When big changes are made we tend to have some downtime and there have been several major changes in the last year.

The community reaction to this downtime is likely pent-up frustration over repeated performance issues related to the series of changes.

I personally much prefer the pace of change over the last year however I understand people's frustration.

As Jellyfish and others said, it's a game, just a few digital 0's and 1's that really, really shouldn't affect your real life that much.

Value is defined, not measured.
I agree with your conclusion, but this is a bad argument. The money we use to pay for DDO is either a "few digital 0's and 1's" too, or pieces of paper. At the end of my day earning those 0's and 1's, I'm happiest trading them for other 0's and 1's. I can, and will, find solace in other activities that involve trading my earned 0's and 1's for other products and services or saving my 0's and 1's. Complaining and responding to comments on the internet is also a fun activity some folks choose to occupy their time.
