I remember a time not long ago where problems like this were rare, very rare. So few that the customer service could handle them (not always, but he/she tried to make the best out of it).
The time of The Old Bank System

Well, that's over now. People wanted more. More Space. More good looking design. Options to search.
Welcome to the Age of the New Bank System (Bugs and disappearing items included; please don't rage and destroy other peoples belongings)

From my perspective I have a vast clue why people like search options and agree to the new bank. From a logical perspective it doesn't make any sense to me, because you need to know the name of an item and that you have it somewhere in the bankspace to search for it successfully. You also have to use both hands to type time efficient. I doubt that that method is faster than finding things in the old bank. But that's just me and my tiny splinter of autism.

But here we are. Put the old Bank to rest and embrace the Future. You asked for it.


PS.: The other parts of the update were pretty cool. Good work.

Ah the old bank. It all seems so long ago. Man it was nice to not have to move things to tabs again after every update. Those were the days folks.

I know (hope) the devs are all working hard to get things resolved, and that those who hate Hardcore for taking players away from the softcore servers for a time will oppose this, I'm still going to put this out there for those players who enjoy hardcore but cannot dedicate the time to get all the rewards as fast as others (and perhaps even planned things out with a static group to get their desired rewards over the course of the entire length of the event, where every day matters)... will HCLS6 be extended by at least the same amount of time it's been down due to this issue?

Well, let's face it, we're talking about another problem caused by messing with (again) something that wasn't broken. They can't do a single game update
without touching things that have worked for years, so they predictably break stuff. Making Archetypes "out of class" to add a new hamsterwheel level was
nearsighted, nerfing an existing class, race, and a spell to "compensate" for poorly-designed subclasses was a travesty in itself, and they still haven't learned.

The entire bank fiasco is just one more topping on a burnt pizza. It's a clown show, and we're not laughing.

We are working to reopen the game worlds tonight and we will have more information as soon as possible. Here's where we are currently:

Today's versioning fix for Shadow Blades being stuck in some banks introduced a new bug that affected anyone who tried to remove something from their Reincarnation Cache when they first logged in. This caused two problems:

1. Some items would seemly disappear. These items are actually still with you but are stuck in "old bank space".
2. Once items got stuck in "old bank space" you'd get error messaging from that point forward when trying to use your bank in general.

We have a fix incoming that will correct both issues! However, there are two things that will be impacted by this fix; we have had to disable the Shadow Blades fix, and we have had to remove the ability to move items directly from the Reincarnation Cache into the another bank space. For now TR cache items will have to go into your inventory first. We will eventually correct these issues, but for now we are focusing on getting the servers up tonight. We apologize for today's downtime.

Hey, they continue to try to do fun, new things. And instead of adding a new tree, they tried to compensate people who took the time to run the new subclasses with a PL feat, without penalizing people (removing completionist) for not running them. The banks needed to be overhauled to add more storage, so, despite the bugs, this is a good step in the right direction. It is one day, it sucks, but be patient, call your mom, take a nap, whatever to pass the time. Things are 1000% better than they used to be. I remember updates taking days to a week to release, not a couple of hours, and you would get like one or two a year. SSG is doing great things and breathing life into an old game. Chill out.

DDO is not perfect. The devs are keeping it together with band-aids and bailing wire. After 15 years, the platform is showing its vulnerabilities. Many of the complaints are familiar to someone who has been playing off and on for 13 years. Your complaints are totally valid. But I think most people on this forum, even those complaining the loudest, will agree:
DDO is the Best. Game. Ever. I have not been able to find anything even close that offers the richness, depth, customization, storytelling, and ability to chart your own path.

-Some games have better graphics, but not much story
-Some games have great stories, but you have to follow a single pre-defined path
-Some games have great gameplay, but not much customization

I for one am willing to spend money on DDO to keep it going. I honestly don’t know what other game will have the great story, flexible path, almost infinite customization, and a great, engaged community. So we should definitely keep the DDO stewards accountable, but also support them if we love the game. When they turn off the DDO servers permanently, and that day will come, I will be sad, but maybe the lawn will get mowed. Until then, THANK YOU to the devs for keeping me entertained the 98% of the time the servers are up.

Fully agree. There's no game I have spend even close the amount of time with as this one... Except Civ I-V and Baldur's gate of course .

No, your Reincarnation Cache ("TR Cache") should be unchanged, especially if you hadn't used it. Missing items should return as well. However, you will have to use your Inventory as a middle step if trying to move an item from the Cache to another Bank, and if you had Shadow Blades in your Cache they will return to a broken state, which will cause you to be unable to undergo a True or Iconic reincarnation, since the Shadow Blades are stuck in your Cache.
