Default DDO is still the best

DDO is not perfect. The devs are keeping it together with band-aids and bailing wire. After 15 years, the platform is showing its vulnerabilities. Many of the complaints are familiar to someone who has been playing off and on for 13 years. Your complaints are totally valid. But I think most people on this forum, even those complaining the loudest, will agree:
DDO is the Best. Game. Ever. I have not been able to find anything even close that offers the richness, depth, customization, storytelling, and ability to chart your own path.

-Some games have better graphics, but not much story
-Some games have great stories, but you have to follow a single pre-defined path
-Some games have great gameplay, but not much customization

I for one am willing to spend money on DDO to keep it going. I honestly don’t know what other game will have the great story, flexible path, almost infinite customization, and a great, engaged community. So we should definitely keep the DDO stewards accountable, but also support them if we love the game. When they turn off the DDO servers permanently, and that day will come, I will be sad, but maybe the lawn will get mowed. Until then, THANK YOU to the devs for keeping me entertained the 98% of the time the servers are up.

    Default Bank

How about this. Since your having so many problems with this new banking script.....Trash it, go back to the original and move on. I know, such a grand idea that makes so much sense as the old banking script wasn't broken and people weren't losing so many items. Try fixing the whole list of problems that have been reported instead of creating new ones.

Default TR stop is not a fix

Turning off TR will not stop the problem of someone getting a level and pulling out an item they can now use. Then they want them to replace the items.

Exactly. Disaster, it no workee, give us the old one back, fix it, then release it.

Note the order....FIX IT FIRST......THEN release it.

There was so much broken s*** in this update that anybody who wrote the code for it should be ashamed of themselves.

    Default Go Go Gadget developer!

I am looking at the positive side of all the negative comments. It says to me that people truly love this game as much as i do too.
Writing code is hard work. I know.

This is not true from a legal perspective. Legally speaking, they owe you compensation for a service you pay for no matter what the TLA says. But you have to fight them in court. Many cable companies and cell phone providers have been sued and lost even with a TLA saying that they owe you nothing. You cannot make rules that contradict current federal and state laws. And this is protected by the Consumer Protection Act. Most companies will have a provision in the event of a conflict that arbitration out of a court of law as the resolution, but that is not binding either. You have to have both parties mutually agree to binding arbitration in the event of a conflict, however this is another thing most people do not know and usually agree.

But likely not worth the fight. The easier route is to just let your sub expire and not renew.

I'm not legally required to apologize to my wife and get her some flowers if I f something up, but I still do.
Because it's the right thing to do.

Before we bring out the rest of the forum lawyers, do we all agree that if Mcdonalds screws up your order, throwing in a free shake is a nice gesture that makes you feel better?

Have you ever had any experience with customer service anywhere in your life?

For example if you went to a restaurant and placed an order that should take 15 minutes and they continually come out telling you 15 more minutes until it is 2 hours later. Do they "owe" you anything? No because it was your choice to stay and wait. However would a good manager or customer service offer to comp you a free dessert, drinks, or a discount the next time you come? ABSOLUTELY BECAUSE THEY WANT YOUR BUSINESS BACK.

Your response is completely out of the reality of being in a business that needs customers...There are a huge number of compensations that can be given that cost SSG literally nothing and give a good customer experience. That is what people are asking for.

    Get a grip.

This has no explanation for why this update was released and all feedback ignored completely. There is zero excuse for the premature, buggy release of u56, other than to meet a deadline.

They don't "owe" us anything the same way we don't "owe" them subscriptions/ddo point purchases/ etc...

It's called the cost of doing business and keeping your customers happy to STAY in business.
