Considering that this game has been running for 16 years, alittle downtime and some issues are to be expected. My thanks to the Devs and Coders for keeping the game running and still interesting for all these years.

Dennis the Peasant: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
I contend that MotU with EDs and Epic Levels should have been DDO2. The original DDO that I loved was 1-20 and had one end game difficulty which was Epic. That is the classic DDO and had the largest community and draw from the PnP communtiy.
Imagine if we had 2 different games to choose from? This would have also allowed an updated engine to be built on the DDO2 side. And could transfer characters from game to game by TR'ing and/or progressing to epic levels. Or iconics could be 20-40 so that new players could just start in DDO2 if they wanted. But that opportunity may be long gone, or maybe not.
I wired my hot tub up. Ran 100ft of schedule 40 conduit, dug a 8ft long 2ft deep trench and pulled 125ft of 6awg 4-wire from my basement box to a sub panel to the hot tub. It was a productive day for sure. If only the building inspector would get here to sign off, then I could actually use it.
Can the powers that be please consider extending both the Crystal Cove event and this hardcore season by an extra week?
Some of these events only come once a year, and causing people to miss their favorite one is going to turn more people bitter.
And the HC server community has already had to tolerate several bugs to both TR caches and glitchy hounds.
This current downtime already has many people screaming for items and compensation.
Extending both of the above events by a week or two would be simple on your part and soothe quite a few disgruntled people.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Hello Posters...
yes, frustration happens. Helpful, it is not so much. Just so you feel you are being dealt a good card, let me share what happens to one other MMO I play, at that time they have 2 servers plus a test server.

Note: There will be a scheduled downtime (expected to be about 90 minutes) tonight, August 14, which will begin at 6:00 PM Pacific Time.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 14/08/2022 19:49
Please Note: Tonight's scheduled downtime is running longer than expected. We will release periodic progress updates here as we draw closer to completion.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 14/08/2022 20:33

Please be Aware that tonight's scheduled downtime has run massively overtime. At this point, it is likely that the servers will not be back online tonight. We are continuing to work on the problem, but please do not wait up for us. This is expected to take quite a while. We will release periodic progress updates here as we draw closer to completion.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 15/08/2022 08:17
Please be Aware We are continuing to work on the problem. This is expected to take quite a while. It is very possible that the servers will all remain offline today. We will release periodic progress updates here as we draw closer to completion.

To give more insight, with a fuller explanation to come, we were rolling out a series of major changes that would allow for [...]. We were also deploying a series of changes to the back-end customer service tools. We encountered an issue roughly an hour into this process and went to roll back the changes, but they would not roll back cleanly. We are [still] working on resolving this issue. We expect to have the servers back online later today. Apologies for the delay.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 16/08/2022
The Servers are in the first stage of coming back online. <Server B> and <Test> are up and being tested. <Server A> is still being worked on and remains fully offline, so it will not appear in the list of Servers just yet. We will announce here when the Servers reopen for public use, as well as when <Server A> is back online.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 16/08/2022
<Server B> and <TEST> are now both Open, and ready for use. <Server A> remains offline for the time being.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 17/08/2022
Quick Update: Work is continuing on the roll-back of the changes on <Server A> and so the Server is still offline for the time being.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 18/08/2022
Quick Update: Work is continuing on the roll-back of the changes on <Server A>. The Server remains offline for the time being.- Vision | DEVELOPER— 18/08/2022
Update: Work on <Server A> is ongoing, and the Server remains offline for the time being. To give a bit more insight into the issue, significant damage was done to its Database due to a corrupted transaction log, and as a result the past several months of transactions are now being rebuilt from a second database, which is a very labor-intensive and time-consuming process, as it requires the creation of several scripts and systems. Similarly, <Server A>'s database is massive to begin with, holding over a terabyte and a half of data, so the data processing and reconstruction process being done by the scripts is also relatively slow -- despite <Server A>'s Database Server having 32 CPUs and the database being stored on an all-SSD SAS-12 RAID-6 Array. Consequently, <Server A> is expected to be offline for several more days at the least while this work is completed.
While on the topic of Updates, in other news, while our hands are deep in the guts of <Server A> getting things squared away and back to normal, most of the remaining tasks required for the launch of Legacy are nearing completion. Specifically, this includes the Name Reservation System, the Subscription System and Web Site User Dashboard updates pertaining to Subscriptions and Access.

Status Update: Work is still underway on <Server A>. As the restoration process is not yet complete, <Server A> remains offline for the time being. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the ongoing delay.

Soooo.... on that MMO a regularly scheduled downtime KILLED one of their servers FOR GOOD.
Aren't you happy our servers will be back later today?

I "walked the walk" at a much higher level of performance and reliability in an operational environment than ssg supports for better than 30 years. I've put in the 24/7/365 time when needed just as they are... I can't help I have no respect for shoddy work by anyone that causes these types of outages.
I'm a paying customer being kept from what I paid for.

3 rights make a left
Never understood why some people feel better about their particular **** sandwich so long as they know someone else has a ****tier sandwich. Pretty sad on multiple levels really.
That being said, I'm not mad about the downtime really. If it goes all weekend I'd be annoyed and would like an XP boost weekend, just to make up for lost time on TR xp gathering, but as it stands a few hours isn't that big a deal.
Wondering if SSG has reconsidered handling the shadowblade TR cache issue with the extended downtime?
Thank you!

Started playing again after 2 years. Subscribed Monday. Bought Isle of Dread Wednesday. Great show of the state of the game I guess.
I do software for a living, and I wonder if the reason I'm so hard on them is that I've done this type of stuff, and recognize really bad coding and testing practices in action when I see the results. And well, we all see the results. It's not good. Not just this instance, but in general.
It's also disheartening to see issues on Lam go unaddressed. I know i know, it's a "preview" server. But a lot of people pointed out that 56 was not in any way ready to go live. And they just didn't listen.
Part of it is on the code monkeys, part of it is on the management. I know there have been times I've said "They want WHAT by WHEN?" when managers make up their mind about something.
Something this sloppy, this unfinished, this game breaking, this bug riddled should never have made it to release. There's plenty of blame to go around for that.
I'm sure they will do something for the inconvenience, some nice bonuses , etc. (as they should)
But I really don't have any indication that this sort of sloppiness will go away any time in the near future.
I am extremely grateful that I've never had a forum of people talking about my bad work when I mess up!We just get public humiliation in meetings.
