Thumbed_Servant (to my cats ) I LOVE playing a healer (nannybot to the derisive folks)
Leader: Order of Sunlit Rose on Argonnessen server
Current active toons: Muhther....going through the Passed Lives grind at my own pace...currently lvl 28
I agree.
That doesn't invalidate the point I'm trying to make.
Dev's can be 100% dedicated, but if they don't have 100% control over decisions, then the outcome is not going to reflect that level of dedication 100% of the time.
I'm saying I don't believe it's a lack of dedication that caused this problem.
It's more likely that it has to do with a mandatory time schedule that wasn't created by the devs.
Anyone in IT who does not understand "management of expectations" please return to your job asking "you want fries??"
SSG is charged with extracting maximum profit from minimum expenditures. That is plain. It's legacy support until someone is mis-management decides to pull the plug.
I pay to play, have for all but 2 months of ddo's existance. Downtime for me due to idiotic policy is unforgivable. Quit changing stuff not required for "game up". Bits and bytes of junk reward don't impress me. Innovation of ideas by those who don't actively play the game and pay for it don't impress me.
Impress me by keeping this game "live" for the next calendar quarter with no downtime for any reason. I bet you can't. Not if your life depended on it. That's what I mean by idiotic policy. SSG or whomever have decided ddo must limp to the finish line using work-arounds and other make do policy.
Remember!! If at first you don't succeed, try management!!
2 wrongs don't make a right
3 rights make a left
I posted a video a long time ago... My doggo defender kept running into a trap and burning to death...
then his ghost runs back to me....
my hire raises him...
and he runs back to the trap and burns to death...
then his ghost runs back to me....
... ad infinitum... actually, until my hire ran out of SP... I was laughing so hard I was crying... I couldn't breath
This is now officially irritating, and it does not reflect well upon SSG.

The bug often happens when you jump on the ladder from the side, not in front of it.
Your game client thinks you made it on the ladder, while the server thinks you jumped a tiny bit too far and hit the wall, therefore making you fall to the ground. Since the server always wins the argument, you transition from being halfway up the ladder to down on the ground. But the client doesn't agree so it shows you back on the ladder ... and then the server brings you back to HIS reality, again, and again.
I'd like to thank the forum posters for all of their hard work. Even though every individual player is a very small team, they continue to try to log in to the game all by themselves. We should be thankful that they're keeping the forums afloat with their hard work and dedication.
Some of them might have stayed up all night trying to log in.
Granted, sometimes there are typos in their posts, but I think we should overlook these. Just because there are systems that can be used to check before posting doesn't mean they should be used! Also, don't waste my time pointing out that most people posting have posted many times before & are aware of the issues one might encounter when posting something. You can't plan for a Cthulu typo, even if you have 6k posts. Can I get an amen?
The English language is really old. I think we should be grateful that people are making any forum posts at all!

Item-switch lag makes me moist.
Remember everyone, this game is a toy. Only kindness will allow us to stay playing together. So, be kind to the management, yourself, each other, all equally so. And to be honest, "Thank you Lord for our game."
