DDO: If a problem cannot be solved by the application of DPS, you're not applying enough.
So true..you know its even a joke for many players after each update : " What did they break with the new update ? " " do you know what is broken with new update ? No ? What ? that : X. OMG ! Lol they sucks "
Why not testing your releases ??!!!??
Problem is always the same : MONEY. Have the minimum team for maximum profits : leave workers overwhelmed with tonns of things to do... Orders : work on new expansions because it brings money. Leave old bugs where they are cause it takes too much time to fix it. And time is money...Always the same story.
Even if it seems better last months/years : bugs fixed, new/fixed features. Sometimes it is after years of wait for it...( the mail box comes to my mind right now but there are so many )
Often i and friends/guildies dont understand SSG strategy, it seems so wierd, to not say stupid. Often we d like a feature ( new or fixed ) or think at something obvious ( that wont unbalance the game, keeping it fair ) we 'd like and we could spend money on ( how many years for mounts, decent cosmetics etc...people would have spend thousands in that since ) but instead they introduce a stupid mechanic/feature...So many things to tell about the shop, choices, prices...Then you end : " well if they dont want my money, their choice ". Sometimes i think at the commercial team's choices and all i have in mouth is : bah they dont want to earn money ...they r stu..d...So many things to say about that...
I love this game, i play it since the start, i have a VIP year sub, i buy expansions, on sales most of the time, and i try to stay away from shop. You dont deserve extra money, sorry...
PS1 : Your reaper fragment system is ********. It will take years for some people to craft one enchant. And even if you run several R10 big sagas/day its still ********, such a low rate..
PS2 : Remnants system is ******** : they should go directly in inventory. It breaks quest pace to collect it.
PS3 : Named reapers items drops in high reapers is too low. Especially for raids : really a shame that players who spend hours/days in builds, gameplay, strategy and in those raids ( its not a 10 min LH completion ) are so bad rewarded. I am not one of them, i pushed raids only a few times. People completing a 2 hours high end high skulls raid should be all rewarded with a reaper raid item...Your system really encourage mediocrity and stupid runes farming. Lh brutal completions skipping mechanics is just garbage...and boring. If you dont reward people they wont go for higher challenge for better loots. So then they will bored and will log in less etc...In one of my guild they r already bored of the new raid, ofc they run it only in LH. Incentive to run it R1 is too low !!!! So its no brain runs, strategy is : noone, oh wait " ROOOAR , ROAAAR plateform "
PS4 : That TR cache is a pain in the a..Time, lag, bugs. We r all asking for more space for years. Solve the problem : remove TR cache and give space..I have 6 active toons for 24 mules...Stupid..again..

I'm sure then you're familiar with BASIC TESTING. Like, hmmmm, can I move an item from the main tab directly to another tab.
It's not rocket science (am qualified to state that).
It's not that there ARE bugs that is upsetting people, it's that it's so PAINFULLY OBVIOUS that they don't even make a token effort to test ANYTHING.
But keep defending the shoddy work they continue to put out update after update. You are enabling them to do so. Thanks for that.
I don't think it's that at all. I think they don't do USER testing. They probably do code review testing. I am a software tester myself... and I've found more software companies do code review and just make sure the code will do what the scope/design intended and they don't test it from the users perspective to make sure it doesn't have any unintended consequences... OR they do user testing but once again just to make sure it does what the scope/design intended and don't validate it doesn't break something else.
Hey guys, out of curiosity: Is this game notoriously known for this insanely downtime?
I just started playing this past week and ended up buying a 3 month subscription and now the game has been down for 24 hours?!
If it was this last update breaking stuff, why didn't they just revert back to the patch before this one until they actually figured out what the problem was?
I surely hope they give me another day (or more if they're down longer) on my subscription. I would not have bought one if I'd known this game was down like this.
You'd be amazed at what happens when more and more people start using something you put out. In pharma, for example, you can test for years and when you finally release your product, some random person manages to get a side effect that you didn't see in the tens of thousands of test cases you ran. In software, you can have thousands of people test something, 'fix' all the issues, then when ten thousand more use it they manage to find another way to cause the bug that no one before had tried.
Yes, IN THIS INSTANCE, this is something that should have been easily checked before moving it live. But don't assume that nothing is ever tested.
