    Default My take on Sacred Fist Pally Stick Build

    I always loved playing a CLONK with a quarterstaff, in Pajamas. So when I saw the sacred fist tree and all its juicyness, I thought there might be some synergy there. I dont like punching and hitting button combos. God bless you if you do, youre smarter than I am!

    I knew this would be very defensive. And I knew DPS would just be ok. I dont know how the SF spells will add to DPS. I'm starting from 1 and I'll update this as I go. It's just a plan for now. I have a lot of sticks for all levels.

    Discussion Points:

    Rogue is for attack speed, haste boost, evasion, and trapping XP. With 100ish reflex thisll be fun.
    Pally levels get holy sword and a bunch of the SF dmg dice, which ill convert to light and amp with melee power. Sticks will be deity weapon with Aureon and implement in DC.

    2000HP in reaper. dodge, lesser displace, ghostly, massive saves, evasion, self heal. And a woowoo stick for the luls.

    Now I could go tactics and try to knock stuff down/out, using trips and GMoF drifting lotus. Thats a lot of investment when other people do a lot of CC and this toon will probably party. So I'm going to leverage a weird angle and go radiant servant and use my Turns for something useful. In group play, a paladin using healing burst would be kinda... useful in the middle of the melees. No target heals are great when youre in eDF stance and limited to touch range.

    ToDo: refine the stats to get them even at end game. Identify trappy swaps. Get elemental resist and absorb up.

    Hey, this is a cool idea, but there are a couple of problems.

    - 50 AP in Sacred Fist is way too many even if you were pure Sacred Fist using Wraps and took the capstone and T5s.
    - The entire left side of Sacred Fist enhancements require favored weapon, which you will not have for Quarterstaffs, just Wraps.
    - Many of the Sacred Fist enhancements are traps. I didn't go through all of what you selected because that 50 number made if obvious that you took all of the stuff that you don't really need.

    So the only way to get a Quarterstaff as a favored enemy for this setup is to take Cleric or Favored Soul before your Sacred Fist levels. And then, for BAB reasons, you are locked into a couple of things, you need to take full BAB class levels through level 12 in order to get the best usage of feats (sacred fist 2-12). At that point, you could add a level of rogue, but it may make more sense to add a level of Monk. So an 18/1/1 build might work for this.

    Anything in the Sacred Fist tree that uses Ki is a total waste on a mostly Sacred Fist build. The reason is that you will only have enough Ki for the Spells in your spell book, so using the stuff in the tree is not only a DPS loss, but a waste of action points.

    Ok, I see you are picking up Quarterstaff as a Favored weapon at level 23. What about levels 1-22? That also locks one of your destinies into Divine Crusader and for a fun mixed up build like this, you want to be able to mix and match destiny trees.

    And you should know that Sacred Fist gets no bonuses to Ki Generation. So in order to make use of the Ki spells in Epic, that locks you into Grandmaster of Flowers to pickup +1 passive Ki generation, and +ki generated on melee attacks.

    Another idea is to go Tabaxi Trailblazer as an Iconic if you have it, and use the racial tree as your staff tree. You get everything that you need from Sacred Fist for 23 AP. And then to further the Clonk theme, you could grab Radiant Servant Tier 5s. You still need full BAB sacred fist for levels 11-12. You could add more Monk after that, Monk has a staff tree too, but on Iconic I would take 12 levels of sacred fist on creation so you can get the level 12 core. 17/3 gets 3rd level cores from Monk and Fists of light. 16/4 gets another Monk feat and you still keep most of your Sacred Fist spell slots.

    Those are great points! Thanks! I'll look at allocating AP elsewhere but tbh there wasn't a lot that excited me.

    Heroic leveling has been joke level easy so far so I'm not sweating the 1-22 grind. I could put those AP into trapping till then.

    Yeah, I don't think you will see any problems in heroics. 50 MRR cap in Epics is problematic. And the Sharn Melee set (Part of the Family) does not give any MRR cap boost, like the caster set (Escoteric Initiate) does. Even 60 MRR is very low for Epics, you will find yourself taking more damage than squishy characters like rangers who by default would have 100 MRR cap in light armor, and can keep their distance. It is fine in 20+ if you can heal through it and get some crowd control. At cap, if you wanted to run high reaper, I don't think there is any way around it, you would need to utilize the Nystal's Mystical Defense Sentient filigree set to increase MRR cap further. Champ Dots and non-evadable Famine reaper spells will hurt, even if you have a ton of hit points.

    Do you think 100ish saves with evasion can overcome that? I looked at the esoteric set, but it was particularly caster-y. I do like the charisma of course. I'll gear tetris it up in my spreadsheet and post that gear variant here shortly!
