This. A lot of Argo people are unable to transfer their hardcore characters.

Default Clarification on this release note?

    From the release notes:
We have removed the ability to create a character that is both an Iconic and an Archetype through an unintended method during initial character generation.

So what are you going to do with all the Iconics that are already now Archetypes?

PS: There was a poor job of communicating the original intention of this combo. it should have been stated up front whether it specifically was allowed or not. I didn't see anything about it.

The perspective of the community, is that they probably did not give 2 cents to thought about iconics + archetypes, well because they really do not synergize well anyways.

But since it seemed a popular idea to get archetype + iconic past life, this is an opportunity to sell a +1 heart. So I tell the community, work around this “bug fix” and do not buy a heart. Just do a TR into iconic, then ETR into iconic, then ITR without the use of a heart anyways.

I understand that selecting iconic and archetype was a work around since you had to bug it. But considering archetypes are mostly worse than the base class, there was nothing gamebreaking happening.

Personally I think after this largely unpopular update, something positive, rather than negative should have been the focus. Let’s say sonic blast now chains to a second enemy. Wow. Great the devs listened to the community feedback. Oh wait I misread the release notes….iconics no longer work with archetypes at character creation. And next week 10% off LR hearts.

Coming from someone who did not do this. I don't see the need to do anything with them. Unless for some reason they deem it a serious exploit, it seems like a mostly non-issue.

Default Moving Tab content back to main

    From the release notes:
NOTE: When you first log in after this game update all items in all custom bank tabs will have been moved back into the Main tab as a result of this fix.

Am I reading this right? All the stuff I moved into new Tabs will be moved back!?! I spent MANY MANY HOURS over the last few days getting things the way I wanted them. I fixed 12 of my 21 characters. Made 45 total Tabs (I just counted them all). And that was all for nothing?! I hope that's not the case. Surely you could find a way to make this fix and then move the items back into the tabs we've made. Surely that's possible if you just took the time to do it right.

If you really are going to undo all the work I've done (we've done) so casually, who's to say you won't do it again. Maybe a week from now when you fix the drag and drop issue you'll do it again and ruin people's efforts for the second time. And who knows how often after that. So do I really even want to put things in tabs ever again if you can just decide to undo it and waste all my time because it's the easy fix? Pfft, so what if the players have to move all their items again, right?

Boy I hope I'm wrong about this. Or that you have a heart and come up with a better, more user-friednly solution than to just flush all that time and effort down the drain.

What about those of us who already have a toon made that is Iconic and an Arch type?

That's pretty funny, thinking the people that came up with the entire plan for U56 content thought about players feelings. )

Bards and Healers already got run over by a bus, and they couldn't even muster a half-hearted apology about that, either.

Yeah. I understand that this might be the only way, but really, it just makes me hate the new bank even more. And there's no point in redoing all the bank work tomorrow, because I'm sure this won't be the last "fix" they're making to this awful system. Joy.

Can we PLEASE have our old bank back? Please?

    Angry

It would save on keyboard wear and tear to say, "Today, there will NOT be a downtime..." instead of announcing the constant, daily inactive periods.

Seriously, I am not a fan-boi, nor a hater, but this has simply gotten ridiculous. Since 2006, I can't remember a time where the ENTIRE player base (such as it is nowadays) was so discouraged. It is pervasive. One sees it on the forums, the guild chats, Discord chats, you name it, it's everywhere. And the worse part is: there is NO confidence that dev staff will fix anything or even cares.

Can it at least be admitted that Update 56 is a complete fiasco?
    What was done - terrible
How it was done - terrible
When it was done - terrible
All attempts to halfheartedly address issues - worse than terrible

I'm sure this will all fall upon deaf, apathetic ears, but it just has to be said. And frankly, if the above comments warrant being banned, so be it. Nobody wants DDO to survive more, but ****, this nonsense is way beyond any level of tolerance.

Devs, please know that many of us do like the new bank system. It has saved me a ton of time in gearing my toons. Being able to search reincarnation cache is a huge upgrade.

Searching in TR cache is great. Agreed. But why does this imply we have to get a crappier normal bank?

It doesn't work that way. When you alter the way a function of a system (bank tabs) works (by basically re-coding it), you can no longer use the data from the old system as it is no longer applicable to the new system.

It sucks but that is what you get for investing a lot of time into a "New" system. Just ask the members of the Windows Insiders (of which I am one). Wait until it is out for a while to make any real investment in time. All systems are released with bugs, some serious, some trivial. It happens everywhere.
