    Default Sacred fist can be an effective and simpler leveler for hardcore and should do 5k

    Goooooooood morning everybody. This is Strimtom here and since the release of U56 I decided to play some of the new archetypes. I ended up starting with sacred fist on hardcore and while I thought it would be slow and a tedious leveling character it was actually super duper fast. This completely defied my expectations and was much stronger from 1-20 than I expected. I think you could fairly easily get a 5k with this as you are super tanky, great self sustain, and good amounts of damage and aoe. Now the melee aoe does slow down a bit later on, but incinerating wave and ki explosion really clean up groups.

    Key tips, tl;dr
    1. You get charisma to hit and damage at level 6 from your religion, so just use bull strength potions until then to keep the damage up.
    2. Ki whirlwind is great and you should use it all the time.
    3. I personally really liked having the cure moderate SLA. I took it at level 3 and it was useful the entire levelling process.
    4. Ki bolt is useless, but don't sleep on incinerating wave. Really strong damage, especially with the sacred fist enhancement that adds light damage to it.
    5. Ik'thanor's signet ring is a really really good item for levelling for extra KI. Get one of these or moonrise bracers from sharn and you will feel a lot better about ki management.

    Unfortunately, it's a bit of a MAD build, and Drow is a traditional go-to for such: you want "max" Cha, you want Dex 17 (for 2WF chain & also Evasion), you want some Int for the skills, and (for HC) Strim took some Wis for no-hassle casting. If you don't have a race that dumps something, you're still going to have to make that same decision via Build Points and it'll be just as painful (or more so).

    (I agree that a starting "10 Con" is uncomfortably low; I'd accept a starting 17 Cha and shuffle 2 there for a 12 Con, but any other race is going to be (at least!) equally uncomfortable from some perspective b/c it does have so many Ability demands. Pick your poison.)

    (Edit - a similar thread re alt races, with example starting Abilities for a 1st-life Dragonborn, Drow and Tiefling - those are the only 3 Heroic races w/ +Cha. (Tiefling Iconic has same stats as Heroic version.))

    For HC yes, but on normal servers it is a non issue. max cha and all into it 16 con and 14 dex ( only if have a dex tome ofc, just start take precision at 1)

    It is really good and fun on normal server (but i went tabaxi instead since i have 16 racial ap). Thought i just should do 3 fast lives and forget about it, but i have a good time :-) (key is as Strimtom says your aoe ki spells for fast trash from lvl 12 +, i went magical training at lvl 1 for feydark cha to hit and then lockania feat swap at 6 to precision when you get it as religious feat), i rate it 9/10 for how fun it is and 7/10 for heroic strength

    (The lvl 2ki spell is really fun and easy to use, i am not fast/quick enough to do monk with all abilities justification, but this is wayyy easier to play. But enough of things to do so you have a good time.)

    You could dump WIS instead. Yes, you're dependent on Owl's Wisdom potions or wands for spellcasting until you acquire WIS gear. But paladins don't get spells until level 4 anyway so there's ample time to farm for at least a +3 WIS item IMO.

    For that matter, you can dump STR if you can deal with lower damage (and risk of Enfeeblement / encumbrance) for the first 5 levels until you get Divine Dream. Or if you have Feydark Illusionist, you can take Magical Training at level 1 and use CHA to-hit/damage from that tree; then swap MT for Precision at level 6.

    Needed someone to confirm, can the ki spells be Quickened?
    Does it alter their ki costs, or does it give them an extra mana cost?

    I played DDO back in 2007/2008ish and it had so much locked behind pay walls. At the time, I couldn't afford it so I only made it to around lvl 2/3ish. I just came back about 13 days ago and started a Druid and made it to lvl 5. Then I found this build. Vanguard by far had the absolutely best monk type class (Disciple) and Sacred Fist is as close as I can ever get to that, so I said "HELL YEAH"!

    I have followed this (changed just a bit, not enough to say) and although I don't know very much about this game (still learning on the fly), this build is very good for solo on a brand new account. I'm lvl 18 now and I can literally solo any dungeon 15-19 on ELITE. I lvled from day one doing ELITE dungeons (I am VIP) - I didn't buy any Expansions or anything from the DDO store until I was lvl 7+. Then I bought and did Ravenloft - All of the content on ELITE. Even finished the area 7500 slayer kills.

    I have a lot of people complaining that it's too strong on no past lives, etc. I just think it's how you play to be honest. Buff choices (Mine is different than this) / potions (you loot these) and you cannot always run into a room FULL of casters / trappers and tank-n-spank. I have to run behind things and kill one or two at a time sometimes, but it can still be done. Especially once you get to around 11/12ish - this build is amazing! Now, I can't compare to anything else except I've grouped with players and let me tell you, This class is NOT OP by far, cause they easily out dps'ed me on a rogue / artificer (I think it was). Then a monk/rogue/ranger annihilated things before I had much of a chance to do anything. With that said, this build is still amazing but I'm probably bias because Monk is my favorite class ever.

    Now that is out of the way, I have a question for everyone, please (especially Strimtom). I am trying my best to understand this past life incarnation stuff. I see that you can do it at lvl 20 or lvl 30 and the lvl 30 one is TR (True incarnation) but it seems you can only do that one 3x? Then there is racial + class ones and it seems those are lvl 20 back to lvl 1? Then you can do each race once and each class 3x? My question is what order to do this on a brand new toon / account? Can someone please explain this in simple terms?

    I.E. Get to lvl 30, TR to 20, back to 30, TR, back to 30, TR then reincarnate to lvl 1, to 20, etc. I want to be a Drow Sacred Fist in the very end, although I did this first.

    Also, would it be better just to buy the +8 to all attribute tome? ( I won't do this yet because I seen for the past 3+ years ppl had problems with them disappearing on reincarnation, even up to aug 2022).

    Again, amazing build for new players and thank you in advance!

    A true heroic reincarnation takes any character 20+ and sends it back to level 1. Wiping out favor, spell book and granting either a past life character class feat or a racial past life feat. Depends on the which heart you use.
    An epic reincarnation takes a 30+ character back to level 20 and grants an epic past life feat. Favor remains, spell book remains or you get to re-select spells.
    If you're an Iconic build, you have to be level 30+ to do either of the above reincarnations.

    If you're 30+ and desire to go back to 1, it is a good idea to do an epic reincarnation and then a heroic reincarnation (of some sort) to maximize return on having hit 30.

    Lesser and greater reincarnations are build fix/build upgrade actions that allow you to bring your character back through the build process to its current point so you can redo skills, feats, etc.

    Thank you for this. I learned a lot from reading and a few players from my guild.

    With that said, I can say that I believe after starting a brand new account and being practically a first time player on 9/19/2022 that most players have forgotten (or started before a lot of content came out) what it's like to be a brand new player and learning. I believe they learned over years of playing and new content slowly coming out AFTER they've learned the basics and such already. So, my opinion of the TR's from a brand new player is very different and here's why:

    Any new player starting this game after I post this should NOT go to 30 first and then do a eTR. Why? 1) You aren't very strong, so a lot of content if you're solo (I started on a VERY low populated server) is not easy if possible to do in EPIC levels. 2) You need to farm gear. Gear is by far the absolute fastest way to get stronger - Makes this game completely different. 3) The absolute most important reason being a new player is if you make it to lvl 29 / 30 and get gear, you'll instantly feel like a god. It's INSANE how much stronger you are with that gear. THEN* you have to give this all up to restart from 20 or 1? Yeah, that is a HORRIBLE idea and I can see many players quitting at this point. Most people giving you advice is ones who has played for years and did this process slowly as new content came out, not all at once on a brand new toon learning the game for the first time.

    It's much better to go from 1-20 because you aren't really that strong yet and going back to 1 isn't as bad as going from 30 back to 1. I've done this as a player who has only played this game for 27 days (Today will be my 28th day) and I went from hitting for 400-600 dmg and critting for 1500's yesterday to lvl 1 today. It's a HORRIBLE idea, so do NOT go to 30 in the beginning or it's very discouraging, this is what others don't tell you. Keep in mind that the reincarnation system will take MONTHS and MONTHS into YEARS before you start to feel stronger on restarting from lvl 1. I'm completely solo and not powerlvled or being carried by anyone as I'm sure that is much faster, however 2-3 TR's a month is not bad for someone who hasn't even seen most of this game yet. The question is how long can you keep this up before you get completely bored and quit this game? I'm sure this system wasn't as bad back in the beginning and seeing it long term, however it's not that great as a brand new player today as it will take years to complete this. Someone in my guild right now has been playing this game for 7 years and still hasn't done every past life yet. That is well.. kinda discouraging if I'm being honest. I understand they didn't do it over and over, however we're not robots, no one can. You're going to need a break at some point. As I pointed out about gear earlier - One piece of gear = MONTHS of TR stats. Anyhow, this is my opinion as a new player, take it for what it is.

    Now about this build:

    I am having problems understanding some of this build, especially lvl 21-30. It doesn't state which Epic Destiny to get. According to the immunity's I'm assuming "Grandmaster's of Flowers" or whatever it's called? The toggle gives the Slippery surface and most knockdown immunity, correct?

    I'd like to try this build out and I'm curious what weapons you're using. In the video I just see glowing orbs, so I thought maybe handwraps, but with the Vistani points maybe daggers? But you don't take Deadly blades.

    Still uses handwraps. Vistani Knife Fighter is for Haste Boost, +5% doublestrike from the 3rd core, two ranks of Mist Stalker, and free Deflect Arrows plus Quick Draw.

    The main drawback of this build AFAICT is it doesn't have a Battle Trance, because for some reason SSG didn't include Divine Might in the Sacred Fist tree. If you wanted to add one, you'd either have to invest in an alternative like No Step Missed (Horizon Walker); or splash cleric / Favored Soul to (re)gain Divine Might.

    Question for anyone who has tried this build, I've stayed away from SF because of all the "it's just Monk all over again" complaints. How does the burst damage on this hold up against your typical THF Smiteadin using KOTC/SD/Visanti and Divine Crusader / Fury of the Wild in end game?

    Haleyia here from Sarlona. Just wanted to let Strim and everyone know I like this build very much. I have been making some Tabaxi Monk 3 / Sacred Fist 15, Bank toons. Based loosley off of Strim's build here I have been having Tons of fun with this build for my bank toons. I aso wanted to say that I went over on Orien just to test the Creation of this build. I found out that with a Tiefling I can get the following stats: Str 8, Dex 16, Con 14, Int 12, Wis 10, Cha 18. And with the Tabaxi I get the following: Str 8, Dex 16, Con 12, Int 12, Wis 10, Cha 18. In any case I now why my Tabaxi has 12 Con and my Tiefling has 14 Con. I have also created a Tiefling Sacred Fist based off of Strim's build here. Thank You Strimtom. And I am having lots of fun with it. However, I went straight handwraps instead of Daggers, well, because If you know Haleyia on Sarlona you know she has a lot of handwraps. My Tiefling can Solo R1 at Level. So, without further adieu Thank You Strimtom for the the build and thank you to the rest of you for you informative posts. Its a fantastic build.

    Thanks Strim for this build. I used it for Sacred Fist past lives, and enjoyed it so much, have kept using it for RPL's.

    As noted, meh until level 6 when get chr to hit/dmg. That second level spell Sacred Fist Empowerment is money at earlier levels, adding +3 imbue dice. Fast Movement enhancement super awesome for leveling.

    The build takes a jump at 11 when you get the level 3 spell Incinerating Wave, and again at level 12 when you can equip the Ik'thanor's signet ring (thanks for this tip! its worth getting if doing some of these lives). At later leveling levels, sometimes I just sit back and blast out incinerating waves, taking mobs down like bowling pins.

    The build is tanky and resilient, plus the LoH and Cure Moderate SLA, just a sweet leveling build!

    No Stunning Fist? No Trance ability?
    Assuming +8 tomes and decent gear, I would try to use WIS as my second stat, for Falconry trance, Stunning Fist and Lotus Bloom.
    Maybe I'm underestimating Sacred Fist's spells or something, and melee/GMoF is a trap?

    I'd rather take Deific Warding, Embodiment of Law or maybe even Arcane Warrior, if I find myself spamming Incinerating Wave at endgame.

    Really? Embodiment of Law is literally 2 times stronger, and I'm not sure if I want it.
    Invest into stunning DCs and take Crush Weakness or sumthin.

    I guess these are just placeholders, as the build was not yet explored thoroughly in epics
