Default Game wont load after update.

Can login and choose server, but nothing happens after that.

I have exactly the same problem.

Playing on a MAC for what it's worth.

    Reboot didn't help.

As I'm on a MAC, I'm very loathe to reinstall ...

I'm also very tech not savvy

Hopefully a reinstall wont be needed. A lot of other people are having same issue, so looks like a general problem. Let's hope, anyway.

Using Windows 10 (fully updated) with 7th gen i7 and an Nvidia 940mx graphics card and after the update I cannot load the game. I get the launcher and I enter my password, the launcher then allows me to select a gameworld. Nothing happens after selecting a gameworld.

    Client/launcher patched without reported errors.

As the OP, Can log in via the launcher, select the game world then that's it. Launcher process exits, client process never starts. No client log files to speak of. Last line of the launcher log looks like so :

    Code:
    2022.08.31 13:16:39[W] "	"D:/Fantasy/DDO Unlimited/x64/dndclient64.exe" -a #################### -h ############## --glsticketdirect XXX --chatserver ################## --rodat on --language English --gametype DDO --authserverurl https://gls.ddo.com/GLS.AuthServer/Service.asmx --glsticketlifetime 21600"
(the ###### replaces the private data on my end)

The path is correct for my machine. There is no client log in the main DDO directory, nor in my x64 directory.

My client is hanging on 'Installing: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistribution Package (x64)

That link might help, but not for us poor saps on MACs

Yes, in my multiple efforts to work with my anti-virus/firewall I had my client stick at this point. Don't ask me exactly what I did because I am not totally sure but I reset my anti-virus/firewall to it's default settings and then was asked by Windows to allow the Microsoft Visual C++ to make changes and I allowed and I am in the game finally.

I hope everyone else having issues getting in to the game after this update are able to resolve and get in soon too.

Was firewall problem for me, too. Had to checkmark private side of DNDclient x 64. When I then started up game, it installed the Microsoft Visual C++ files. Runs fine now. Running PC and not Mac, btw.

This issue should have been resolved earlier this afternoon with a change we made on our side, let me know if you are still having an issue.

Manjaro 5.19.1-3, Lutris WINE 7.2-2, System WINE 7.15, 32bit game client

The update apparently works. The VC++RT 2015-2019 x32 and x64 install correctly. All the data files are written successfully.

Allows for login, displays the splash screen then errors out with an incorrect client version message.

I've rolled it back a few times to older versions and the result after updating is the same. There have been no other changes to the WINE bottle.

    EDIT:

Resolved the issue by NOT using the legacy 32-bit client, This, however, prevents store access due to the in-game Store screen remaining blank.

just updated. able to log in and choose server. splash screen stays up for a few seconds (no progress bar on bottom) then client crashes. tried turning off firewall and reinstalling c++. neither helped. running windows 10. game updated with successfully, but with a hiccup. at some point toward the late middle/end of install it got an error and began to count down for a "try again." thereafter it worked and finished the install. ... at least thats the only thing i saw. i definitely did not watch it the whole time.

I spent some time on this a few months back and resolved the store issue as in comments on https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManag...sion&iId=28606

One DLL needs to be overridden:

    WINEDLLOVERRIDES=libglesv2.dll=d

A day after update and I still can't log in. I can choose a world then it goes to the Isle of Dread art then I get GAME ERROR, Connection failed: You do not have the current version of the client installed.

I pay a year at a time, sure would be nice to be able to play the game I paid for.

Tried the repair install, didn't work. Shut off firewalls, didn't work. Guess I'm going to have to reinstall the entire game which takes hours.
