Someone made a commment that if you are not on Discord, that your voice isn't really heard by some of the devs.

This is a terrible idea if it is true and I would suggest that something should be discussed internally so that players know where to get info and where they can voice concerns/issues.

I for one no longer use discord due to the vulnerability issues in it's hsitory. I still have an account there to be honest and logged into to a discussion awhile back. All it seemed to me was an outlet where Lynn was talking to all her followers. This was during ED revamp and I made a suggestion about melees getting the shaft and got trounced by masses. It seems to me they were all talking about thrower builds and what not. I immediately left the discussion because I felt like I didnt belong and I am sure I was not missed, which did not hurt my feelings.

Not to mention, I would think that the ddo.com forums would certainly be the place the developers should have official discussions, receive feedback from players, etc. Not discord. That seems like sloppy business to me. Discord is a social media platform, it should not be a platform to discuss potential game changes by developers. Its a peer community, just like the wiki community is. Most of the people on social media platforms are there for suck up and gain popularity by doing such. It is and never will be a good platform for developer feedback.

I understand the forums are not always the best place for dev interaction either, but isnt that what lamania is for? That should be the one palce where developers could interact with the community as a whole. And not just focus on what their followers want.

Maybe this explains alot of the unpopular changes that are happening? You cannot be in touch with a game population if you are only appeasing a small group of people, which just so happens to be your favorites. This is a good way to kill off a game completely, when it is no longer fun for most. Afterall, that fun is who is paying the bills. Every DDO gamer is entitled to feedback, an opinion and fun.
