    Have you tried the 'Restore Defaults' option button on the DDO Client? Under: Options... General, via the drop-down arrow menu at the top right-hand corner of the client.

    It sounds like a Network setting issue. You've already implied; you've turned-off the router for several minutes to reboot it and every single Internet connected device in your house. Sometimes people have issues with ports. But you've been playing for years so that's less likely. I'm not familiar with seeing: "Network request failed, communication error [3]!" someone else might have a better clue then me.

    These are my network settings in UserPreferences.ini, I do not know if they will help

    [Net]
    BindInterface=
    ComputeUniquePort=True
    ConnectionSpeed=0.00
    UserSpecifiedPort=0

    I have the "Use the system proxy settings" selected in Proxy Settings on the launcher options,
    64-bit Client, and Pre-cache gamelogic.

    You can try the Repair tab and hit the [Repair] button to see if that works for you.

    Do you have the possibility to try the game on a different machine but in the same network or the other way use a different network on your machine?
    Just to narrow down if it is a machine or network issue.

    Cheers,
    Titus.

    So... i reinstalled windows lol and ddo and still the same issue. and yeah im going to check on my next day off at my local starbucks. I recently got an email from my isp (frotier - Los Angeles CA)- saying how my speed has gotten so slow that basically over paying for 6mbps Dsl. Provisioned speed 3.36 mbps expected range 1.68 -3.36 mbps. I think that may be it. should I upgrade internet?

    Having an uninterrupted and stable internet connection is probably more important than having an extremely fast connection (when in-game). My connection is slow and its download speed will be only around 2.0 Mbps - it's extremely rare I'd get any lag. The game runs super smooth. Also the machine I use for DDO is a relic and over nine years old.

    It's called "bandwidth" mainly because its 'width' rather than 'speed' (think water-flow through huge wide rivers and tiny steams rather than just speed itself), also things like latency affects the game play - you don't want a high latency connection with DDO.

    Unless there are several people or devices in your house all competing at the same time for the internet connection resources. That speed is should be fine. Of course downloading the game will be slow but for playing DDO it should be adequate.

    It's still likely a network setting that isn't correct and it's failing to contact a specific DDO server address. If the router or network is faulty then it could explain loss of connection. Although you're getting the same error repeatedly; so it suggests a specific setting rather than the router dying, as you seem to be able to surf the web normally.

    If you haven't already, run Windows Update and update your drivers.

    If that doesn't fix it.

    Go into the DDO program folder on your computer, should be under Program Files (x86)\StandingStoneGames\Dungeons & Dragons Online. There will be 2 files called "dndclient64", one is an Application file and the other is a Text file. Open the textfile and it will list out the complete debug.log and that will give you a list of all the commands the client executed up to the last command before the program failed. That would be a good place to start to find exactly what is actually causing the issue if it's your client.
