    Default Proof against ... nothing

in HCL, my 5th lvl Barb was wearing a neckless that had Proof
against poison +2 (immunity from natural poisons and +2 against non-natural poisons)

got bit by a spider in splinterskull,
(drum roll please .... and was poisoned.) So I checked
the poison effect because a thought that regular spider
poison was natural and I should be immune.
    YUP, said it was natural.

So proof against poison is really proof against nothing.

I think that perhaps SSG should fix the poison/disease system
so that proof against poison or disease actually
works against the poisons and diseases they are supposed to work against.

maybe take a break from pumping out new stuff for a few months and actually
fix all the broken stuff ???

or is that too much to ask?

Yep. The Devs wanted the drow poisons to work all the time, so they made all the proof against poison items useless.
FoM doesn't work against paralysis poison just because.
Neutralize poison was reduced in duration to seconds.

Dark lord mary has a great video on youtube demonstrating in game all the problems with proof against poison. Warforged and iron defenders are immune to some poisons, pale masters are not and the proof against poison items I think only protect against troglodyte stench or somesuch.

The whole poison damage debacle is the biggest nonsense but they don't care to fix it. It's been broken for what, 8 years now? Longer? Too busy nerfing
Bought my first dungeon master's guide in 1992. My favourite part of ddo is coffee and slayers

they are too busy making stuff to sell that they seem to not have time to fix what they
    already sold

It seems like poison puts the debuff icon on you no matter what. But when the poison timer on the debuff expires, THEN you are either immune or get the +# to saves, etc. It definitely seems nonintuitive. So the question is, does having the poison effect debuff icon on you do anything? Meaning, are there any actual effects or is it just the icon? And if it's just the icon, then why show the icon if you're immune?
