    Default Noobs invasion in HCL6

I didn't expect so many ppl that doesn't even know the quests reaching lvl 8/9/10 and
asking where is the quest and what to do..

Is is a joke ? If you don't know the game how to pretend to survive in hardcore league ?

today a guy joined me in the quest 'the graverobber' , he asked me ''where is it'' before entering..
and i already knew that it will be pain..
    then
at the start there is a deadly trap (everybody knows it)
suddenly the hound appeared and the guy died following him trying to attack the hound.

    *** ? i mean.. crazy people.

The worst part is that they also make me feel guilty.
I have no time to teach you how is it the quest, it's your fault to die in a quest that you never played
    even in the regular server.

Why so many newbee in hardcore league this season ? what is going on ?

There's nothing wrong about this. HCL attracts people to DDO, and even former players who haven't played for several years. This is a good thing. Many people know they probably will die, before getting to 5k or level 30. But they are okay with it, because it's still fun to try.

DDO also has hundreds of quests. Not everyone has memorized where every last one is, or how they function. So I don't think it's cool to guilt people for being unfamiliar with them.

Also how hard is it to share a quest, or say/type "ff and jump to avoid trap" in the Graverobber example? When I'm in a party– I just presume, for everyone's sake, that there might be people who don't know everything about the quest and so I'll mention any important quirks about it, or point out traps. I'm not saying you should hand-hold people every step of the way. But I think it's just part of being a good teammate to ensure that everyone is on the same page, and able to make it through the quest.

Of course– if people end up dying anyway, despite your attempts to prevent this– then there's not much more you can do. But at least try.

Many of us, especially over on the steam forums recommended the hardcore server so people could see what it was like to play on a fully populated server. We did this to both new people and those bummed by the low pop counts on their home servers.

That spike trap is easily avoidable by jumping on the stuff against the west wall.

Obviously not everybody. Or perhaps they haven't devoted their entire fast-access memory to memorizing every DDO quest in minute detail?

Have you ever considered that perhaps you're part of the problem? If you're the party leader, be a leader, explain things, etc. Don't expect everyone is there just to help you zerg thru. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Default Im being Chad, but this is how I ran it.

As someone who keeps posting LFMs anytime I dont find a group for the quests I need, I found that it was very helpful to point out the 'most' deadly areas based on my experience on my normal server. It wasnt hand holding, it was just letting everyone know that this section in particular tends to kill people. I failed to do that with eyes of stone and lost a pally to the medusa at the end and I felt bad about it, but it did get me more prone to letting people know that some spot was dangerous or to not look at her when she is stoning.

how can you say that ? are you trolling me ?

I wouldn't expect of course.. in the normal server... but man, this is the hardcore league server !! one slip and you're dead.
I expect prepped people that knows what they are doing, i don't have the time to explain everything and i have no time for either a single word
or i would put my self in danger too.
Do you expect that once the hound appear i stop the game and talk about how danger is it ? i would die while chatting.

    This

I was pretty good at remembering quests back in the days of running multiple times in a row for xp repeating them in that pattern burned them in the brain but running quests one and done like they are in current DDO meta they just don't get memorized as easily even after running them numerous times

Entering late is a bad idea on hardcore anyway it's best to stick togeather but, not everyone knows every quest inside and out thats ok.

Hardcore encourages running quests you might otherwise skip on regular servers if your chasing 5k

OK mate, you go be all hardcore and prepped and running on the edge where a single word spells your doom. If that's what you enjoy...

Best we never have anything to do with each other anywhere ever TBH. Have fun.

    Seriously?

From all your posts, it looks like you honestly don't care about others and are only focused on yourself. This does two things: It alienates you from this community of those that care, and it deters newer players from continuing in DDO and keeping this game alive.

    Try and show some compassion.

and what you enjoy ? to waste thousand of hours to see a pug that makes you die in a second and wanish all your expectations ?

Maybe that idea could be legit for the first 3/4 levels..

i bet you are a kind of person with all the time in the world, who cares if i reached lvl 18 and pufff i die ...
but hey it's not the same for me: i have a work and a family.
Call me cinic but if i would to play in the way you said i would rather play in the normal server and not in the HCL.

I really don't understand you people, why you play HCL like if it's a normal game ?
I like Hardcore League exactly because it's NOT a normal game, i like it because it pushes all to the limits.

Hardcore doesn't really push the limits though its more about risk avoidance than anything else

why pu up a group if you don want to be a team player?

It's just a game, mate! Normal or not, died or achieving a chillion favor points, still a game that ends once your client goes off. It's short term satisfaction.
It looks like this hcl creates lots of emotions on you while you're playing at it, doesn't it? Don't you think, maybe, it will become funnier to share that with other people instead of Gollum style? Eventually, you would contribute to a healthier long term game community.
Otherwise, just don't lfm... everyone is welcome to DDO, whichever server, hardcore included.

I think they are fun but not really much challenging just like the trap once you learned how to deal with it
