Why did Zarigan's Arcane Enlightment filigree set bonus change?

For those unaware...

OLD:

• 2 Pieces: -10% Arcane Spell Failure
  3 Pieces: +1 to your Transmutation and Conjuration DCs
  4 Pieces: +1 to your Enchantment and Necromancy DCs

NEW:

• 2 Pieces: -10% Arcane Spell Failure
  3 Pieces: +20 Force Spellpower
  4 Pieces: +1 All Spell DCs

Hey, it did! And retrospectively on existing filigrees too - I just checked mine.

This suggests the devs don't see it as a buff or they'd have only made it work with new filigrees.

My guess is they want to push spell DCs out to the 4th piece of a set only. Maybe they want to encourage people to use Lunar Magic which gives +1DC for 3 pieces? AFAIK that's now the only set giving DCs for a 3 piece set.

Ah, this was a funky one - while investigating a report about its set bonus giving the wrong DCs I discovered that the effects were right and the set bonus text was wrong. So I changed the set bonus text to match what the set was actually always giving. So in reality nothing has changed except the tooltip.

Historically, when positive changes have been made to items, there was a requirement such as a Stone of Change recipe to upgrade to the new version, while changes that are detrimental (such as the reductions to expanded crit range bows) they have been universal and retroactive.

Whether or not an item changes in place actually depends on what specifically is being changed For example, changing an item's critical profile can be done very easily and the change propagates automatically to all versions of the item in circulation. However, changing which effects are on an item requires the item to be destroyed and re-created for the proper effects to be applied. This distinction is probably where that misconception comes from. So the only "reversion" possible is to give the filigree its wrong tooltip back, which will continue to give false information about this filigree set and go on with confusing all players by using wrong information. I see that as a fat NO.
