    Default Hounds focusing on target?

From https://www.ddo.com/update-notes/ddo...-release-notes: "Fixed an issue where Hounds were not properly learning who their attack target was when spawning, and were standing around until someone moved."

Is it just me or are we to acknowledge the end of HCL6 soloing with an aggroing hireling? :/

And maybe of full groups' "Stay put until tank moves!" tactics...

I bet the first to damage a hound will still pick up the agro.
It's not like it says there is an absolute lock on that player.

Correct. The isssue mentioned is that no aggro exists when spawned even with LoS, which is clearly a bug.

And here, I thought that they didn't attack until character movement to prevent needless deaths from the game crashing almost continuously. And it is just this game and happens on multiple PCs.

I have no idea how my main is still alive at level 5 with 6 not taken. Somehow survived over 30 crashes this season in either wilderness area or dungeon.

It would have been nice to leave the hounds as they were to combat game client crash deaths.

    Default Hound attacks Box??

Yesterday, playing through Protect Baudry's Interests, a hound spawned and went for the Box. Completely ignored the PCs. The box must have some sort of aggro mechanic to attract the Kobolds, it seems it works on the Hounds too.

    Mmmmm... maybe not so much.

I was multi-boxing, leveling an alt for farming some gear. My "main", an arti/repeater, had the DPS (and also Dimesension Door, to get back to the start to cover). Got a howl and it was on the alt.*

DD'd, and the Hound was already there and so I started blasting away w my main - but the Hound decided to chew on the alt. And chew, and chew - even while clearly taking damage. *ding* (And this was not high enough level for DoT, it was all pure physical attacks.)

    * Noticed that even with a higher-level "main", the Hound did not always go for the lower-level alt(s). So that's not an absolute either, as some have suggested.

Was in Redemption, a Hound spawned during the end fight, and started attacking Heyton! (We know he has an aggro magnet on him!) THAT was a shocker! He went from full health to under 1/4 in a hit or two before the Hound could be vaporized.
