    Default My hilariously stupid death

I got to level 5, had enough to get to 6 (nearly at on-level XP cap) with my drow Paladin, but was staying to keep favor grinding after accidentally locking myself out of level 2s because I was stupid and forgot to read.

I made it through Repossession without a single death on our team. Every group I was in for multiple days, crushing it! Kobold Assault at level on Reaper? Yawn. Waterworks on r2? Barely dipped below HP max. Tangleroot? I barely got into the mission in time.

Then I took a potion of wonder trying to free up inventory space. I meant to click a shield of faith potion I didn't need but hit the wrong icon by mistake.

    Cue whirling blades and death.

    Oh well.

Feel free to mock me. XD

It's definitely a uniquely stupid one!

Ah well. I'll start again with one of those "guaranteed 1-20 in 1 day" Strimtom builds. Pull that out Tuesday and see how far I get.

On Hardcore, why would you even have a Potion of Wonder on your taskbar? All previous HC seasons I just stockpiled them for eventual transfer to my main server.

Yep! Potion of wonder = "I wonder how I will die to this"

Safest to not even pick up potions and wands of wonder.

I didn't lol. I opened my inventory to use a potion to open some space for loot.

    Whoops.

That sounds like MY kind of luck - thus I shall not laugh AT you, but WITH you.

Do whichever you prefer, I'm honestly chuckling at my misfortune more than anything RN.

Ugh. At least losing 3-4 days of progress isn't a prohibitive loss.

That's the perfect attitude to have for a game. Laugh at your misfortune, then continue onwards.

Hardcore isn't the server for you if you're not okay with death.

    Default End of HC Party

Someone suggested on HCL long ago, in the before times, that we should save all our wonderful potions in the bank. Then take our highest leaderboard toons to a guildship right before the end of time and have a PoW Drinking Party!

I expect the rogue that suggested that figured to climb the leaderboard ladder via deception relying on the gullibility of heroes with large swords and small brains. Sounds fun! Who's in?

If it makes you feel any better, some poor soul died like a week ago from a "Cabin Boy", I have to admit, I had a little chuckle after that.

Lol that sounds a lot like my usual deaths.

I found out you shouldn't jump over lava pools unless you want to do a "wile-e-coyote" style belly flop and burn :\

Similarly for the water in Saltmarsh's Swim at Your Own Risk. I jumped over the water and appeared to land safely. But suddenly I was taking a bunch of damage and couldn't figure out why ... until I rubberbanded back into the water. Death by lag nibbles. So unglorious.

Tip if you fall into lava: stay in the lava and swim to the shore. Every time you jump and land back in the lava, you will take damage. It's similar to the electric floor in Spies.

Is that a tip for in game or IRL?

Worst for me. Level 7 FvS, jumped off the railing in the Hall of Heroes, without feather fall on, on purpose. Knew I would take damage but also knew I could take it.

Dropped me to -2 HP and I blead out before Guildies could find me. Several people, including a cleric, just ran on by me even.

Worst part is that I remembered I had my starter cake just when I got to the land of lost souls. Could have popped that bad boy and been fine.

it made me laugh and was a very painful lesson learned.
“Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.”
