    Default HELP! Cannot select native resolution

    My native resolution is not an option in the dropdown for resolutions. The game will not open in a window the full size of my screen, and maxes out at 1920x1080.

    I used to play windowed fullscreen at 2560x1440, I have 3 monitors of this size.

    Can someone please explain why options larger than 1920x1080 are not listed?

    I have updated video drivers, tried using 32bit and 64bit clients each at dx 9 / 10 / 11, I reinstalled the entire game, I deleted the Dungeons & Dragons Online folder with my preferences.ini and ensured that the folder can be read/written to.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Has anyone else encountered this? I've tried every search criteria I can think of and don't see a solution.

    When you installed the game, did you also install the separate "High Resolution High Texture" pack? You should have been asked whether you wanted to install it during the game installation.

    If you didn't install it, that might have made a difference in what resolutions are available to you.

    I did, thank you for the question!

    (I double checked that the Use high resolution game data box is checked in the launcher options page)

    It's so strange because I have played with this exact same PC and monitor setup a year ago.

    Find the userprefrences.ini file located in the Dungeons and Dragons Online folder within your document folder. Open it in notepad and look for

    Code:
    [Display]
    AllowDesktopCompositing=True
    AllowFakeFullScreen=True
    AllowWindowResizing=True
    Antialiasing=8x
    ConfineFullScreenMouseCursor=True
    FixedOutputScaling=Default
    ForceFakeFullScreen=False
    FullScreen=False
    RefreshRate=Auto
    Resolution=2560x1440
    ScreenMode=FullScreen
    ShowIntroMovie=False
    SyncToRefresh=True
    TripleBuffering=True
    WindowedResolution=2560x1440
    Change the resolution to your required values. Save and close. Launch DDO normally and you should be fine.

    Thanks Gartix, I tried this but it didn't work unfortunately. Going to try it again now.

    Unfortunately, this results in the game opening in 800x600.
    The largest resolution option on the dropdown is still 1920x1080

    Can you copy and paste the relevant {Display} part of your userprefs please

    ScreenMode=Windowed
    ShowIntroMovie=False
    SyncToRefresh=False
    TripleBuffering=False
    WindowedResolution=1920x1080

    I have tried manually editing the two resolution values to the proper resolution but it results in the game loading in 800x600 and that value being placed there in the file.

    If your still trying to use 3 monitors, then try disabling your two secondary ones. Relaunch DDO and see what options your given. If your still not getting the correct resolution values in the drop down then change the resolution in the ini file again but also change the following bit too: ScreenMode=FullScreen

    Just trying to narrow things down a little

    Full screen (windowed) mode launches a 1920x1080 corner in the top left of my screen, so for some reason it thinks my monitor is a different size. I've tried it on multiple monitors but unfortunately all 3 of the ones I own are 2k

    All drivers up to date?

    Can you post a dxdiag? Something odd is certainly going on.

    I do know that my initial install wouldn't pick up my 2560x1440 and I needed to edit in. Afterwards it was all happy.

    EDIT: I'm shutting down for the night, hopefully someone else can help out after. Good luck

    HAHAHAHAHA THAT DOES IT THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    I read through DxDiag and noticed it's picking up my *(#&%(#%&(# Sound Bar as an HDMI video device at 1920x1080.

    I unplugged the soundbar and switched to headphones and it instantly loaded in 2560x1440 borderless window.

    THANK YOU
