    Default spellcraft

im looking at this build [ https://forums.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/524066 ] as a base for my bard

my question is... why points in spellcraft? ive been away from the game for a while and dont know when changes happened, but it seems it may be a change in the game where spellcraft affected sonic, but no longer does... ?
    thoughts?
    thanks!

Spellcraft boosts horn of thunder's electrical damage part (which is half the damage of the spell), and boosts DI's blue dragonbreath epic strike & mantle - there isn't any sonic dragon option unfortunately. Also boosts (?winter) primal avatar strikes/spells/mantle procs.

    gotcha. thanks.

i dont plan to use any of that. i think my skill points would be better used elsewhere... like heal, haggle, or even jump.

Jump is not needed if you're going into epics. The cap is 40. As a bard, you'll have GH and music bonuses, so that's 8 already, plus str bonus, misc bonus, epic skills, etc. You'll cap no problem.

thats a good point. i also noticed that my heal is already maxed out. plat isnt as... 'valuable' as it used to be either so haggle isnt as useful as in the past. so that begs the question... what to put the extra points into?
im already maxing out: peform, concentration, balance, umd, and heal (as much as i can for a cross-class skill).
suppose that may be the reason for putting points in spellcraft, huh? i just *never* plan to use any of those enhancements/abilities and still need to drop that 1 skill point somewhere.
