Hello.
So, now, we have the Pale Masters. As far as I cen see here through reading, they are very good, have many immunities nd so on.
So, why not, I thought, do some kind of "positive energy undead" ?
That, I thought would be the Undying ones.
The only problem would be, that they sem to exist (at least that's what i read from the campaign book) only in the elven territories.
However, I have no idea whether the rules have been changed regarding that within the current campain book, or whether everything rule-wise stayed the same.
I just wanted to have something similar to the Pale Master, but just not as grim. Like light vs. dark, so to say.
That would enable a more lighthearted play, so to say, since Undead ones have a certain auro around them.
Personally, I find that quite creative by Keith Baker to come up with the Undying Court. It looks to me as if he was doing the same as I always do Look at something, and then turn it around to 180 degrees.
Out came the Undying Court.
Fuelled by positive energy instead of negative energy. But with at the same time the same immunities undead ones have.
I doubt, though, that this will be implemented any time soon. Pale Masters are far too popular for that, plus there is the settings problem . Undying Ones exist only in Elven areas, and are difficult to maintain elsewhere, without the constant flow of Irian positive energy.
The only Undying One I have seen within the game so far is in that "Eyes" quest of the Morgrave University, and that one got seemingly definitively killed very quickly.
As NPCs they would be interesting as well, due to thir long ... "lifespan". As hoarders of knowledge. So to say.
