    Default Isle of Dread Saga - 5 Day Cool Down Timer?

    Why in the world would SSG put a 5 day cool down timer on Isle of Dread Saga? That is horrible customer satisfaction alignment. Are they trying to keep all 2000 active players from leveling their alts and low participation guilds too quickly? Given the state of the player base, SSG should doing things to support leveling alts and guilds, not putting up surprising obstacles with associated negative emotions. Screw it, I am going to stop playing this insult for the rest of the weekend. See you Monday, ... maybe.

    Can you elaborate on what this timer is? I've done the legendary saga 3 times in the last two days and haven't seen a timer.

    Was doing heroics. Did Isle of Dread on R1 first time, turned in saga. Ran it again on Elite to learn the quests, went to turn in saga and said I had to wait 4 days and a bunch of hours before turning in again.

    If I remember correctly, the timers on the heroic versions are intended as there were shenanigans with the favor rewards being churned out at an overly high rate by capped players. But take that with a grain of salt, my memory on random tidbits like this is questionable.

    Default VIP + Iconic

    Lockouts are character based, so if you are VIP and can enter elite on a first life and have a shared bank for gear and to drop ingredients off, you can just keep making and deleting iconic wizards, use skeleton pet when more than 1 player is necessary, and solo farm the heroic saga until you have all the ingredients and heroic items you want.

    Other heroic sagas have the same time constraint - it is the same in 3BC.

    While I believe that some type of abuse my have caused this I don’t see how it could be related to favor since favor is a one time reward

    This is most likely to stop Guild Renown abuse for lower lever completions on elite, however I find it rather silly as Most sagas are blitzed through for renown whether they be on heroic or epic, so if this is the cause it should be removed.

    The only other reason I can think of is pack ingredients for crafting.

    im not going to lie, my one-person-guild would LOVE it if i could rerun heroic sagas as often as possible for that renown. 3BC, Feywild, Saltmarsh and IoD now all have this ~5D cooldown on heroic... guess ill go back to the easy epic sharn then.

    i hate restrictions like this to be honest.

    I'm sorry, I have a lingual difficulty (small brain defect) and I got the word wrong, it was renown, not favor. The guild renown option in the lists.

    No problem that is a bummer because it still requires running the saga for the reward sk I dont see it as a big issue but like normal the few ruin things for the rest

    All of the low level ones for sure, Saltmarsh, 3BC, Feywild, Dread. Not sure about heroic Ravenloft, Gianthold, Sharn, Cogs, or the Eveningstar ones.

    They said something about not wanting high level players zooming through low level sagas, but they actually put this in initially to lock people out of taking the 3BC saga reward multiple times, which was possible at one point.

    You still get the saga completion you just can't collect or start it 'again' until the timer runs out and you collect. If you are just farming the quests for familiarity or loot then then nothing is stopping you from continuing to do so, if you are farming them for the saga itself then the timer is doing it's job.

    If I remember right, it was changed because some guilds were running full parties through low-level sagas over and over again, collecting 90k+ guild renown every completion. Get several parties doing that a half-dozen times a day from a single guild, and you'd rank up INSANELY fast.

    Yes, there was a guild on sarlona (currently inactive to my knowledge) that did this and was the first guild to reach 200. After being accused of cheating the guild leader showed the math on heroic sagas which was actually quite solid and SSG responded by adding the timer.

    XP is lower for low-level saga, but guild renown is the same for a low-level heroic saga as it is for a legendary saga.

    I'm trying to imagine how fast you could level up a small guild (say 6 accounts, for maximum guild renown bonuses) if there was no cooldown on heroic sagas. I think the Saltmarsh one would probably be the fastest? Most of those quests can be done in just a few minutes each, and if you're all VIPs you can choose to just VIP-skip Danger at Dunwater, since it's long and tedious even on heroic. So you could knock out the other 9 quests in like 30-40m total, and rack up 270k guild renown per completion. Go from guild level-1 to guild level-17 on the first saga completion. Then level-22 on the next. 25 on the next. Even at guild level 100+ you'd be gaining a guild level every 2-3 hours. You could probably go 1-200 within a few weeks.
