We have been doing some troubleshooting w/ the Audio files used for Raptors and IOD recently on Lam.

    Thanks!
I was using a samsung bluetooth soundbar and constantly crashing in Isle of Dread. I turned it off and ran the game through
my steelseries wired headset and am experiencing no crashes in IOD anymore with all sound options on including ingame music.
Crashes were occuring out of the blue with no consistency but only in Isle of Dread.

    Default Exiting Chamber of Raiyum

Today at 9:30:01p EST - Application Error on dndclient.exe/ntdll.dll
Just completed and Finished out of Chamber of Raiyum.
Saw the Menechtarun landscape for 1/2 a second, then desktop.
    My loc when I returned to the Sands was: You are on server 55 at r1 lx1478 ly586 i261 ox132.40 oy41.49 oz146.92 h137.8. Game timestamp 420598190.734. Q:0x7000611C
It seemed like I was in the same place as when I crashed, not sure if the /loc is relevant.
    On server: Orien

Using a 2.4Ghz Wireless headset (Corsair Void Elite RGB)
    Windows 10
DDO Version: 5702.0051.3861.4006, Build Date: 1/19/2023 -- 32-bit client -- 'Use high resolution game data/allow multiple game instances/pre-cache gamelogic' enabled in the launcher

No chat for the remaining 11 minutes I was on.

My guildy (lives in another state), who also uses the same headset, also crashed at the same time (hung for a few seconds on the sands landscape then drop to desktop), also had no chat once logged back in.

    Default Random Crashes

I have recently come back after leaving the game for a while. In the past, I never had crashes. Now, I have random crashes anywhere, anytime. Public areas, guild ships, quests, wilderness areas. While I'm doing something, doing nothing at all, moving, standing still. Sometimes, the screen freezes for a minute with sound still working, then the display starts working again. Sometimes, it just goes black and exits. Sometimes it freezes for a couple of minutes and then crashes back to the desktop. I have updated all drivers. It is happening on two different computers.

    DirectX 9.0c drivers probably.

It used to be that the 9.0C driver was installed by DDO installer via them invoking the 9.0c installer directly by its url.
Microsoft pulled that directx package target last year, so it no longer installs when called upon and the links are dead.

Some people end up already having it installed when they first install ddo because they required it elsewhere (different game, visual studio, etc.).

Some people have the newer OS that doesn't install it by default since its considered legacy.

Additionally, when my girlfriend had stability issues under win10, it took many tries to find the right driver package.
I think I found it by searching for 'microsoft directx 9.0c offline'.
