"You mean I'm gonna have to go to my local store to visit the Aisle of Bread now? That's just Dreadful"

Good news for store sales since you will come back with plenty of dough.

I am not looking for perfect but there are so many indicators that this was not ready to go. Am I the only one who prefers a delay?
I have a feeling SSG may have been beholden to certain "guidelines" in place that needed IoD out from SSG by yesterday that they couldn't wriggle out from. We all saw that they needed more time, but it's how it rolls here unfortunately. Very few instances where SSG will take the extra time when told to by the community.

+1. Tired of the sloppy releases.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

The problem is that Lammania was last open a couple of weeks ago. They have made a ton changes between then and the release. The simple truth is they would rather release to a schedule than adequately test (and fix) the release. Don't get me wrong, I am not upset or really irritated by this pattern but I do question SSG's practices. I would prefer they had a reasonable plan that didn't require this type of drama.

Well one thing for examle are constant crashes which can make the wilderness area a bit of a PITA. I don't thin the full wildreness area was even available on Lamannia. To make it more tricky it might be related to the hardware used, for example only happen on PCs with more than 16MB of RAM, so the game try to load the rather huge are all in the memory and then get addressing issues, but what do I know.

Unfortunatley without wildreness no quests. While I would have loved to play the content this weekend I can certainly wait some more days till it got fixed.

Why all the long faces, you should already realize that in DDO, pre-purchase
of an expansion means that you agree to alpha and Beta test it ?

Two sides of the coin here. One side, there are always going to be issues when content goes live. Some require immediate action, and some can wait for a patch or something not immediate.

The other side of the coin is when you (meaning SSG) charge premium level dollars for a release, you should expect complaints when things do not go right.

Kind of like pro sports. Athletes want to be paid like stars, cheered like stars when they play well, but don't want to be booed when they play poorly.

Only 16mb of RAM? I don't think I'm old enough to remember a computer with that little of RAM, but the crashing is weird, I went for like an hour no crashing then every 2 mins I was crashing. I really hope this fixes the crashing.

There is a thread mentioning a problem with crafting material drops in epic.
I had no problem playing all of the quests on heroic.
I do hope IoD will be reopened soon.

    LOLOLOLOL
Lamannia is a preview server. Not a test server. 99.999999999% of the work is done. The devs will only do minor tweaks. That is why, when they make a decision, 99.99999999999% of the time they will not change it.
The work was done, to go back on that means they paid the dev for basically nothing.

Exactly. I agree. The release is the ACTUAL testing phase for the product in DDO terms.

It would be nice if they updated if the game is going to be down longer than what they already stated! 30 mins?, it has been a hour now!

Default Inconvenient but c'est la vie

To all the people in the comments complaining about how this is unacceptable because they spent lots of money and blah blah etc etc:

    1. I understand that this is inconvenient, but it is not a crisis, it is an inconvenience, and we should respond accordingly. If they said the expansion was closed, and would never be reopened, and no refunds would be given, then I would understand and join in the outrage.

    2. That said, we all spent the same amount of money, but some people are being negative nelly and some are understanding. Who do you want to be?

    3. You paid for this expansion, more than likely, over a month ago. If it's shut down for a day or two extra, what's the difference? Is your patience so thin that you cannot wait an additional day for this expansion? (I am excited too.)

Extremely toxic negativity, come on guys, we can do better than that.

This is why I never buy any new expansion packs when they are first released

Give it six months to a year and maybe the bugs will be sorted enough that it will be playable
