    To fix something I presume?

Also, why 11:53 AM? That seems like an oddly specific time for a restart.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

My guess - this is to fix the isle of dread landscape issue but they do not want to say anything until they see if it works.

They certainly aren't doing this as anything other than an emergency fix to something.

That is surely why they gave so little notice and took it down at an odd time as noted above - they wanted the fix complete just as soon as possible - which I cannot blame them for.

This restart was necessary in order to properly temporarily disable access to the Isle of Dread wilderness area and its associated quests. We apologize that we were unable to provide more notice. Meanwhile, we are working on a couple of possible solutions to reopen access to Isle of Dread, and we'll have more information about those plans in the near future.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

Surely something this serious would've been caught during Lammania testing? What exactly is broken, and why does it mean locking the entire area?

I try to support SSG's decisions most of the time, but given I paid a fair amount of money for content that I was blocked off from in less than 24 hours, it's a little difficult here.

This is why I never buy any new expansion packs when they are first released

Give it six months to a year and maybe the bugs will be sorted enough that it will be playable

Given it wasn't a get the hek outta here 10s shut down like the couple of times something serious was found. It shouldn't be an exploit or a game breaking issue this time.

The group I was in saw at least a 15 minute notice. Which means there was probably something found that needed some code implementation or alteration given this is the prime time where Devs would be in house or on call to do something like this and that was likely the time where they got the update done, tested and ready to deploy by. So it was a high priority fix needed, but not an urgent one. Hence the time for the server(s) to go down (and those that saw it, at least 15 minutes to log out).

I wish those alerts were in bold red flashing text, with an alert sound. Very easy to miss.
