    Default Shifter Ravager

    Hi all,

I was thinking of running a shifter ravager next life as I loved the Visage of Terror. I tried it about 5ish years ago with a dwarf using TYWA and found at the time I ran out of rages. I thought with the extra rages from shifter and regenerating rages I could have fun just spamming it. My wife and I always play together and we normally run R4. She will run a spellsinger bard with soundburst and hold monster. A have a few questions for anyone who might know or be able to help me out:
    1. If my shifter is focused on con will I still get enough strength to hit and damage (I have pretty good gear). Or is it a case where I might be better off going strength based and since you get hardy rage & hardy shifting you might still have enough con to land visage of terror?
    2. I would be putting 41 points into ravager and was leaning towards the rest of the points in FB, Vistani for haste boost, Harper for KtA, and shifter racial (I have 6 racial points). I also thought about going with the 41 in ravager and then putting much less into FB and trying for 26 into Falconry as no mercy would stack with with bully and with my wife’s character landing soundburst and hold monster that would likely be good damage.
    3. I was going to use my Sword of Shadows as I like it and it took about a million runs of VoN to get it but thought maybe for a life try the claws (handwraps I believe) with TWF see if it is pretty reasonable.

As I haven’t played a barbarian in a number of years any help with these questions would be amazing.

    Thanks so much,
    D

It will depend of quest difficulty and will saves, it will still land sometimes and other mobs willl be cced

It seems to me that as you already have a ccer this would be your better option and go Str based

Con + Wisdom Ravager + falconry, some beasthide to cast while raged.

T5 PA for Mass Frog, Poison tank for AoE dps, S&B tank.

Alright, if you plan on running Legendary quests on R4 then your dual stat focus is going to run into problems. You'll need to go all out in CON to make Terror land. That means your STR will suffer and even fully focused STR characters take a +20 Accuracy and sometimes insightful accuracy to avoid misses and glancing blows. In my opinion, you're better off having fewer rages and running Dwarf for CON to hit because those misses are going to be noticeable. For weapon, the eSoS is outclassed by Baz Morath (Project Nemesis raid) and Tail of Sulomades (Vision of Destruction) if you're looking for max DPS. Enhancement trees are subject to personal opinion. Vistani haste provides a lot of DPS. I think Occult Slayer is the best barbarian tree at the moment as it gives you tons of HPs and healing. If you are focusing on Helpless damage remember there are boosts in the Sense Weakness feat and in Fury of the Wild epic destiny and that's usually more than enough on mid-reaper.

I went all out on CON and couldn't get Terror to land in R1 Legendary quests anyway, which is fine if you just want some cc on a fail I guess. The DC is 10 +half barb levels+ CON Mod, so with 120 CON you would have a DC of around 75. It does target will saves, but unless theres some trick I don't know to boost it, it feels like a lost cause.

Either way, Dwarf doesn't get CON to hit, just to damage, so Dwarf won't help with misses.
