I believe were were promised a storage pass in Q2 of 2022? Well, 2022 is half over. Some specific information on this nightmare we call "storage" in DDO would sure be swell.

Would be nice to see this happen.
Darkwinn, Milkus, Terismina, Gothmawg, Dreylock, Drunarah, Bigbhamboo, etc on Sarlona / Brixlynn, Mofus, Curgoth, Deidlit, etc on Ghalanda.
Yes I would like to hear news about it too. Hope it comes soon, because IoD comes out with even more items to store.
Changing character bank to list based could be good I think, with more slots, and sortable and searchable.
Something certainly needs to be done somewhere. A new player starting completely from scratch will have a total of 80 inventory slots (including the bank). This sounds like it would be a lot, but it really isn't. The bags you can buy for more platinum than any new player is going to have are not even close to being sufficient for even a fraction of the stuff that will be picked up. The extra 80 slots that can be slowly earned for favour help a little bit, but not enough. Without significant Points, these slots fill up fast.
Other than a lack of free quest content, if there's one thing that scares away new players (and any potential future monetary investment), I'd say it is - in my opinion - almost certainly the inventory system.
On a break. BRB maybe.
Nah the inventory is not particularly offputting. New players are heavily invested by the time they find out how insanely rare certain items can be and that they need to hang on to absolutely everything *just in case*.
The crippling lack of storage is more hurtful to the old established player base who has to spend 30 minutes alt-hopping every time they want to do a life.
I'd like to suggest setting up a totally new player and giving it a try. There aren't just items, there are also collectibles. Each type takes a slot. There's gems. Each type takes a slot. There may even be various types of ingredients. Shockingly, each type takes a slot.
It doesn't take all that long to discover you're unable to pick up any kind item in the middle of a quest because there are no slots left, and then you need to start destroying items. I get that this is why the aim is to get people to buy extra slots, but the inventory capacity brick wall comes up far too quickly.
On a break. BRB maybe.
"I get that this is why the aim is to get people to buy extra slots"
Don't forget buying huge bags to hold collectibles, ingredients, gems, augments ...... These are expensive and cannot even be shared among characters as in some other MMOs. I am sure they bring in significant revenue.
Yes, of course, all of this as well even if I didn't specifically mention it. That said, would it be such a bad thing for some limited form of storage for 'other' items being provided right from the start? And maybe a storage pass could convert the bags in to their own separate tabs or something for collectibles and such as the bags themselves also take up slots. (Random thoughts).
Augments aren't likely that big of an issue until this theoretical new player gets to the stage where filigrees start to rack up (each type taking up a slot, naturally). If they actually get around to buying Ravenloft, they can work their way up to getting a free augment bag ... only to discover that a capacity of 15 stacks is a painfully low amount. Is that enough for even 2% of the possibilities? But I can't imagine a huge number of new players would make it to this point, unfortunately.
On a break. BRB maybe.
Knowing DDO's development history, any number of things can / will go wrong to delay the entire schedule. Thus Banking will be the preverbial tin-can that gets kicked down the road. Forever in sight yet always out of reach. My guess is that it was only added to make seasoned players look forward to this year's update. (Sweeten the deal as no one really wants the level increase) However I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for something that players have spent least a decade begging the Dev's for.
Would be nice to get some sort of official comment, given all the negative feelings from the players.
The comments are not negative but rather a true reflection of things. After all, players have only been asking for this since the Banking system was introduced. Which begs the question, why after all this time even bother unless the finacial incentives from selling Banking slots is no longer viable?
