Quests run on R1 with a 32 Air Savant spec'd into Shouts. DCs on all content felt fine. Preview 3.
“Captive of the Hidden God”
Fun quest. Lovely cinematics.
“All Hail the King”
Ettercaps are disgusting and I love them. Getting a named augment from the Mother chest was good.
Scythemaw’s diversity of attacks are good. Not sure how the sonic scream plays out in higher reapers. Is there a way to play around it? Is looking like an appropriate challenge on high reaper! <3
Loot:
+6 conjuration gem
Powder Packed Barrel
Masthead
“Trial of the Triceratops”
I think the Triceratops could be twice as hard and the druid twice as easy. (Tested on R1.) Everyone comes for the Dinos. Any human monsters in this pack are boring in comparison. I love the ending. It’s well animated. Nice quest design.
Maybe Scythemaw and Crimsonfoot could be made 4x as hard, and the number of other monsters in the quest reduced by half. Big dinos are just good game design. There’s plenty of high mob density quests in the game and these quests are a big opportunity for something different.
Loot:
Blue Raptor Feather
“Whispers of Return”
Wall basreliefs are fun Cthulu nonsense. All the Kopru should be red named like the one in “Wild Thing.” They’re new and cool. Don’t let them be fodder. Korpru getting force balls from Legendary Shroud (?) is good. Glad to see them return. Damage is not too high given you can run circles around a Kopru faster than they can turn to cast them; however, if you ever adjust their turn speed you’re gonna need to tone down the force so the melees don’t get oneshot. <3
“Wild Thing”
Glad to see a threatening Weird return. Glad it’s red named! The Styracosaurus and Allosaurus in the bamboo should all be red named IMO.
The Ankylosaurus was much too easy compared to the triceratops. More tail swinging! <3
“Spiders and Flies”
Great verticality to the quest. Cool biome.
Loot:
Birchlore Gauntlets
Captain’s Spyglass
“The Trouble with Tar Pits”
No one runs ToEE part 2 because it feels like monotonous copy paste—even though the end fight is pretty cool. “Trouble with Tar Pits” has this problem in spades. Copy paste mob packs. Biome doesn’t feel unique enough.
