VIP benefit idea

[Suggestion]

In DDOCAST 676 Tolero asked for ideas for VIP benefits. One idea is to allow VIPs to be invisible while mounted so that they don't get attacked as much when racing through the wilderness getting to some quests. This could even be automatic at any level and for any class while in wilderness areas as long as they haven't attacked anything in that wilderness area since entering.

F2P should get it too, to improve grouping, but only when joining a group in progress with someone already in quest. Then VIP is still a big QoL, when soloing or starting a run.

I'm not sure something like storage should be pay-walled. That's a mechanic that needs sorting out for everyone.

Also, 500 Astral Shards is a bit excessive. That equates to almost 3,000 DDO points

I really like this idea - a token from the gods, indeed. It's small, but it makes a noticeable different to quality of play. Maybe have a regen on it, so it brings back 1HP & 1 SP per minute, sort of like the Ring of Troll's Regeneration but with an extra blue bonus.

A 'Blessed by the Gods' permanent blessing while VIP would be a nice touch, too - it'd work like a paladin's aura and offer a little boost to the blessed one themselves and all they encounter. It thanks the player and also promotes to others the perks of being VIP.

What's important is not to offer things that make other players feel excluded: exclusive classes, races, enhancement trees, etc. Everyone who plays is important to the game - having people around to help form parties, to answer questions, to offer fine goods on the Auction House, or just running around making the world seem more alive, all are doing their bit. Yes, VIPs are awesome but sometimes subs have to slip for very good reasons. VIP should be something to aim for, not something that locks doors or makes other players feel bad. Everyone's here to have fun!

I like this idea, too. Be almost as good as adding teleports to quest entrance/NPCs to put you directly in quests. One person can run ahead, jump in, then bracelet everyone else.

Heh. I want something that feels like a reason to subscribe. DDO point increase is meaningless -- I only play in epics and you don't gain points doing epic TR cycles.

Permanently capped storage space from L1 on all characters sounds "meh". My mules would like it, but it would not effect my real characters at all. Now, 10x Shared Bank would kill my mules and THAT would be incredibly nice. Having to mule at all is very annoying.

What I really want is zero-cost to racial trees. Let actual RPL racial point gains be applied instead to DP for subscribers (or to something that keeps them relevant for VIP). Other ideas = ability to buy relatively cheap racial points that only work while you're a VIP. Really anything that unlocks the racial tree for use without having to play heroics = good.

I don't care about the RPL stat gains. Well, I do, but they are utterly insignificant compared to being able to freely use a racial tree. There's some great flavor for each race there that I'll mostly never get to use. I'd like to use it.

BTW, please don't bring up Ottos. I'm perfectly willing and even eager to buy an RPL, but only if it's one-click and done. My desire is to AVOID the ugliest most onerous parts of the game: TR Cache, UI setup, Char creation, and especially heroic level-up UI. Heroic play is dull and less fun than epic, but it's still at least a little fun. The other parts? Hate .. HATE! Takes me a month to psych up for one heroic life and even then I often stop logging in or play something else if the build requires starting from L1.

So, Otto's = paying more to do the things I hate most about DDO. Not happening.

Clickable thing that only works if your sub is live, and maybe leverages the invite to guild ship code to "create a portal" next to all current party members that will 'port them straight to whatever from any public area. Or any quest entrance in the current explorer area after everyone is in.

Could be a Horn with an effect called 'Call to Arms' and a cooldown of /whatever.

...and if you really wanna let people show off, make using the horn do a hornblowing animation and sound effect. Though given how many react to crossbows and runearms, suggest maybe hold off on the sound effect.
