Indeed an interesting interview and even if I could say a lot more I want to mention that No1 on my wish list for things VIP should get is much more space for items in our account bank (and all items including raid items to be bound to account).
And here I talk about like 10 times the current space of course I don't know if there is a technical limitation but I keep asking for it until we might get one day an answer to that question.
More space for account banks would be at least for me really valuable and at the same time, it is not any kind of "pay to win".

in my humble opinion,

vip-only storage would be a silly big mistake for them to do.

if there is a chance to have more (note, i'm positive it is not possible, or they would have already monetized it), do it and give it (all or some portion of it) to vip for "free", this i support yeah and it is right, totally yes and totally fair....but you have to sell it to the non-vip, it would be incredibly stupid to lose this option and miss the sales.

vip only storage, in the specific case of ddo, would be a blatant counterproductive cash grab leveraging the bad state that storage always had, we players are fed up with bad storage since forever, while new storage slots or new flashy bags like dimensional augment and dimensional hireling bags....well, they also are, and they don't go unnoticed, but they are tolerable...for now......they are in a grey zone between the leveraging the lack of features and paid QoL, like, an option, a patch. vip-only storage would be not be perceived in such a grey zone, it would majestically backfire.


edit: i said "i'm positive it is not possible, or they would have already monetized it". i think that maybe it is, but the game totally lacked incremental improvements over time, the game lacked investsment that myopically crippled its potential and someone above turbine\ssg used it like a milk-it-till-it-dies thing (actually, both ddo and lotro). i hope now things will change and we'll get radical improvements (first off better servers, then the rest, like, decent store, decent payment system, forum, and then...yeah stuff like in game storage, a major issue) to close the gap that incremental improvemets would have closed already, little by little.

A few guildies and I were chatting about DDOCast and potential new perks for VIPs:

* Persistent access to a Lamannia-esque server, mainly so theory crafting could be tested before investing time & money on live for a a build.
* Persistent access to purchase otherwise Limited Time Offerings in the store (ie Otto's)

To respond to Tolero's comments about wilderness areas....please keep em coming. Wilderness areas are a great place to play this game casually. I try to hit all of the wilderness areas each life.

Epic and Legendary Wildernesses are good, so long as they have reasonable kill count maximums and mob density. For example, restricting Epic or Legendary wildernesses to a cap of 3K kills or less shoots much of their long term usefulness.

A few of my suggestions for new VIP benefits;
- Being able to redo enhancements & destinies for free in public areas
- Discount on in-game things that cost astral shards - not ASAH but teleporters, vendors etc.
- Discount on store items, say 10%, not huge but enough to be noticeable especially if making them stack with current sales.
- Unlimited use guild airship beacon & bigby's hands, similar to eternal flasks. Actually, just adding them as mysterious remnant turn-in rewards to be available for everyone too would be really nice.
- VIP Lounge - an in game public area that features a load of vendors, trainers, seasonal event turn-in NPCs, auction house, mailbox, teleporter & airship dock. Include vendors that sell rarer items (even if they're high cost, no harm in having extra plat sinks) like level 8 & 9 scrolls, rarer potions like restoration, fireshield, stoneskin etc & the higher CL versions of regular potions & wands that sometimes appear as regular loot.
- Free sentient toolkits & jeweller's toolkits; this could be implemented for VIPs similarly to how the free daily challenge token works, have a vendor who you talk to that'll give a handful of them once per week.
- Concept linked to the above one, maybe an NPC who'll give a range of items to choose from, but you can only choose 1 per calendar month, whether it's a handful of timer bypasses, a reincarnation heart, a handful of siberys cakes, 250k XP gem etc. to let people pick which VIP freebie they want that month depending on what they have planned.

For Vip benefits, I always thought if only I could search my Reincarnation cache. Simple, not P2W, but a nice perk.
