Default Isle of Dread Release Date Information

We are hard at work getting Isle of Dread ready for further preview and its eventual release, and we want to share with you today an updated release date. Isle of Dread will now release on June 22nd, 2022. The raid is expected to release a few weeks after the initial release of Isle of Dread, as has been done with our prior expansions as well. Thank you!

You might want to recall that prior expansions actually shipped with a raid and had the 2nd one arrive after. Putting a single raid in this expansion and then delaying it from launch is NOT what was done previously.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me that the raid is delayed but the fallacy is already to think it is an appropriate justification that it was done before in the same way.

That is exactly it. They were upfront and said it was 1 raid. I was not overly happy but they were clear. They need to delay it, I get it stuff happens beyond their control and they are doing their best to give us the best product they can. But saying that this is what they have done previously, well that is not factual.

Delay it but unless you are now giving us 2 raids with 1 being delayed don't try to say it was what was done before.

I can't wait to play the MoTU 2nd raid! But that one's taking forever...

I can't wait to play the shadowfell expansion raid! Or the 2nd raid! They sure have been delayed for a while..

Ravenloft & Sharn had a release raid and a 2nd raid that followed. Is Cordovan saying he considers these two the only time his company produced expansion worthy content to sell?

Feywild had no release raid, and it took ..almost 4 months! to get one raid? I guess employers really do get what they pay for.

Do I have to mention saltmarsh because ahahahaha what a cashgrab this.. sorry got sidetracked

I'm grateful too and am patiently waiting for the game breaking bugs, crushing lag, extended down times, obvious bait-n-switchs and stabbing victims that will accompany this excellent content!

as has been done with our prior expansions as well. ...please...why do this?

so how many quests are there?
    1 raid? or 2?
pre sale provides no data on what we get for game ? how is this even possible? we still do not even know what we are buying?

just lay that information out there on the pre sale page quests and raids , honestly should be the first item we read for the expansion. its the CORE of the expansion why is it the only item not listed? Its all you get in standard pack.

THEN / And if something causes a delay and dev priority needs to shift ,we would rather hear that honestly and understand.

right Meow i am really confused on the basic information thats the heart of the expansion not being clear.

I really don't understand all this fuzz about raids ? There is nothing i could care less for, since I have no character in the typical raid level range ... And since they don't do any low-to-mid level raids anymore, I simply don't care about ANY raid releases ...

    Truer words.

However, the point you fail to get is that people are actually very tolerant of other people play styles. For example whenever you go on about some flavour thing or heroic casual, I don't reply or often get involved unless to check an error in your understanding. You feel obliged to go on with things that people have paid money themselves for already, for a specific reason, because you fail place value on it. I could easily make the same comment for not caring about the heroic versions of most of the packs and that they hold no value to me, would that be fair? Can I ask which version of the pack you have prepurchased already?

I don't appreciate that SSG expects me to believe there is value to be found in a raid being included in a new expansion with no future guaranteed delivery date. The last x-pak with a raid- the raid was delivered ...what? 3 months later? (somebody dbl check me pls)/ And all they needed was to add something to the effect of "Raid to be delivered a future date TBD" to make it just fine with them. But they expect me to include the "future value of the raid" in their cost basis- lol. I say that price is pro-rated in line with how long the delay to actually receive what you"ve paid in advance for ! Show me something of value and I would pay even more. my 2 coppers.

So the raid is on backorder? are there supply chain issues? does this have anything to do with lockdowns in China? do you have enough TP (i dont mean turbine points) to finish the project? Have you compensated for Inflation?

this really is BS. its like paying for a Sedan car upfront but only getting 3 doors and 1 side mirror.

I expected this thing to not be released at its original time frame. That's fine. What I dislike about SSG is how they communicate stuff. It needs work.

    No kidding!

I agree that it feels dishonest to say "yup just delivering the only raid delayed, like we planned but didn't mention until now..". Just say it was the lowest priority or took the most resources or whatever was the case was and you don't want to further delay the entire release. It's fine, it happens.

I also get wanting to hold them accountable for delivering a product worth the price tag. But the small crowd of "hahaha ur game sux, you bungle like every release and they're not worth the $" is like grow up guys, go spend your cash/time on something by a studio you don't openly mock, where you're not subjecting the public to your whining. Why are you still here? If you like the game, then stay but be constructive with your criticism.

If you don't want to pre-pay for a future raid, then just don't buy the expansion until the raid is out. There is no pre-order-only perk you're missing out on. Pay now or the 22nd and access everything but the raid, or just wait; your choice, and no financial wrong-doing.

If we gave our elected officials a tenth of the grief and accountability that we give game studios, I swear we'd live in a utopia.

    My previous statement was sincere.

In the universe I come from, unexpected things happen on a regular basis. Unexpected problems arise for everyone I know. Unexpected problems came up in companies I worked for and come up for companies I do business with. Last week, I had to conserve water for a week because a water main burst and it took that long to repair. When unforeseen problems arise, people of high moral character alert family members, associates, and customers to the problem, estimate a time to overcome the problem, and then work hard to get past the issue.

The people at Standing Stone Games obviously want to deliver a quality Expansion. That will take a little more time than expected because of an unforeseen problem. The Raid will take even more additional time. It happens. Instead of cutting corners they announced a delay. Those are the actions of good people.

For me, the issue is not that the raid will be late, it is the ridiculous attempt at justifying it. This seems to be the new normal unfortunately.

What ridiculous attempt to justify it? Can you provide a link or a quote?

Take as long as you need to get it right. The change notes for preview 2 make it clear you need more time.
