Default how did i break ddo?

been playing for years, usually take a break while teaching so im back after about 3 months.

every time i cast a few spells, DB fireball, Prism spray, and a few others, it locks up for 2-5 seconds. everything else seems to run pretty smooth, but just these few spells in my rotation are killing me. i feel like i read about this before, but i cant find a thread on it, hoping its something simple i did, that i can fix. i did update to windows 11. not sure if that has anything to do with it.

any help would be appreciated .

after a little extra testing, its not even when i cast the spell, even when its on cool down, if i try and cast it, its still causing the freeze.

and, its not the spell, its the key. as in, if i hit #3 for DB fireball, it locks up. but if i more DBF to #2, and hit 2.... its fine...

This may be keyboard related. Consider a thorough cleaning.

A good can of air and alcohol wipes. Depending on the keyboard you may need to remove the keys to get underneath. Some may require moving the backing. Only do this if you feel confident you can put it back together.

    Default thanks for the advice

good try, i plugged in another keyboard, and it still did the same thing. i loaded the game on another pc, same keyboard, and it ran fine, no freeze. its not the spell, i emptied the slot, and it still causes lock up. literally doing nothing. i reset the key bindings. still froze up.

a steam thing? im not running through steam... but maybe its catching a binding somewhere?

also still suspicious of windows 11... but not sure why that would be stealing keys...
