Default What's the next bastard sword I should aim for?

    I'm currently at:
    • level 12 (pure fighter, mostly Kensei)
    • 17-20 threat range

I'm using Cutting Currency. Gashing 5 seems too good to swap out but it's kind of a gamble and it's a ML 6 weapon, so I think it's about time I moved on to another weapon, but I don't know what would offer more average damage.

Spinal tap from Temple of Elemental Evil is really nice if you can get it. (note the x3 instead of the normal x2 critical multiplier.)

Otherwise, if you have Ravenloft, the Barovian Bastard Sword is nice and trivial to get. (Guaranteed drop from the guy near the entrance to the wilderness.)

Twinblade from the tome turn-ins in the orchard (ml14) still holds up very well too with it's higher base dice & 2 augment slots, but can be tricky to farm up & the pages can be expensive to buy.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

When you get to LV 15 and EveningStar, I highly recommend "Wave of Despair". The Slay Living is great for fleshies. It also looks way cool.

That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.
Feature wishlist: colour-coded HP bars; red/blue teams in raids; rez-timer in party menu

I'm lazy I would probably use the Barovian one from Ravenloft until level 20 if you don't have any others. You could always craft one from Sharn or Cannith crafting.

    This.

Doubleslotted blanks common currently in AH, and at ML16 you can craft weapon with 2x4d6 damage effect and add 2x5d6 damage effect from slotted augments. To extra crafting slot you may put ins deadly/vampirism/stat damage effect also.
