    Hi there,

    Couple of quick questions/clarifications

Handwraps (dinosaur bone) are listed at level 29. everything else is 31. I am assuming this is a typo?
Flamefang - this appears to mirror dripping with magma. is that a correct assumption?

Other than that, there is a TON of stuff to look at...so gonna be a while I like the crafting system though from what i see.

"with Minor Artifacts being better than raid loot."

How about we get regular named items that can be upgraded to Minor Artifacts (like legendary crafting). There's so many interesting minor artifacts in the game, and only being able to use 1 at a time means you ignore all the other minor artifact items. Of course, they don't get the stat boost until upgraded.

Was unable to slot The Walking with Ancestors augments in Blue, Colorless, Orange. I only tried the in the new Pirate equipment (Armor, cloak, helm) and Bone Rapier.

Set bonus for Deacon is providing Labyrinthian Inferno.

Most of the current minor artifacts are bad. Its not the power level, but the usefulness due to wierd mixing of powers. It seems that for something you can only have 1 of, it should have more useful power. Ala perfected items. Hopefully the new ones are more synchronized.

Alternatively, and probably more appropriately, add more effects to make them more useful. For example if it grants +15 Wisdom, maybe include +15 Charisma and Intelligence, etc.

The Isle of Dread: Set Bonus augments only fit into Isle of Dread: Set Bonus slots. Note that the Dino Bone armors are erroneously not including that slot for this preview, this has been fixed.

The set bonuses are indeed not quite done. They'll be ready for preview 2!

    Hey Lynnabel,

Dino Bone Handwraps are showing lev 29. Just wanted to make sure you saw this. Everything else is 31. I assume this is an error as well?

    Thanks!

One of the more annoying problems, is this is going to add a ton of augments into the game. My augment bags are um, bleeding. Not even enough room to hold all the filigree's much less this new round of augments added in.

Looking through the aesthetics, appearance, of the items available I can say without any doubt that I am not a fan of the style of the primitive Dinosaur bone items. That being said there were still a few that struck me as cool and creative. The Triceratops Tower Shield for instance, probably my favorite. But also the Sabertooth picks and Rapier, the claw kukri (very Jurrasic Park), Spinal Greatclub and Runearm, and the Dinosaur egg orb. The Orb however looks as though it could use a slight size increase or perhaps just more detail on the egg. The coloration is understandably bland but it could be speckled or something other than just beige.

The Dinobone Crossbows look awful however.

The best visuals of the named (non crafted) loot also include the runearm Ol'Ironsides, the orb again Powder Packed Barrel, the Captain's Spyglass Scepter, the Quarterstaff Spearfisher and the dagger Bottle O'Rum.

If I am disappointed at anything... I would have liked a fishing pole quarterstaff, a crossbow maybe made with a piece of a ship's wheel, somehow a rum keg for a shield and why do we STILL not have a returning throwing mug?

But kudos to the art department for what they have done, much of this is incredible.

I took pics of the items I liked, if anyone wants to see something specific from the list above I will take the time to post it when I can.

Breakdown of the various Dino bone components. Red = Weapon slot only, Blue = Armor slot only, White = Any slot. I didn't include any of the numbers since many of the augments are missing them, and any are subject to change. Several of the same bonus in different columns are in different bonus types and will stack. I only explicitly mentioned this for the spell crit damage boosts. Also there are some which are clearly buggy (Claw: Physical Resistance Rating lists healing amp in its description, Claw: Magic Resistance Rating lists repair amp, and the MRR claw is missing from the chart because I'm a scrub).

    Default Making older things BtA

Lynnabel what are your thoughts on making the old Minor Artifacts that have 3 slots BtA? This is assuming the new 4-slot Minor Artifacts become BiS for most classes, unlike what happened with the Perfected batch.

If the above assumption is true, I doubt anyone that already has the old Minor Artifacts is gonna keep them as long as they are BtC (they become obsolete too fast), and more importantly, nobody that doesn't already have them is gonna go out of their way to farm them when they could instead farm the BiS 4-slot Minor Artifact that will be useable a couple of levels laters; this will give those players an incentive to collect those ML29 Minor Artifacts.

Additionally, any thoughts on making Shroud stuff BtA now that they've been eclipsed by the new Dino items?

    Thanks for any input.

Issue - Slotting Iridescent (spell power) into the Claw slot does not provide Spell Casting implement bonuses to weapons.

Request - Please add 1 additional (Claw or Fang) slot to Quarter Staves.

Why will only a subsection of the new ML32 augments be purchaseable? Hasn't everyone been against this ever since the Dodge/Deadly/Accuracy/etc batch of augments went live without being purchaseable? Wasn't this exactly what "Randall Lyric" was supposed to address?

Any chance you could make it so that repair spell power, positive energy spellpower, and negative energy spellpower augments be made universal to all item types in this crafting system?

Also, please add insightful version of the spellpowers too?

    Question

    Isle of Dread Overview

Isle of Dread will contain two major groups of items: Pirate themed standalone items and Dinosaur Bone crafted items. Generally speaking, the pirate stuff will be whole items dropped in dungeons, and dino stuff you'll need to craft and craft upon. This expansion will also contain new Augments, new Sentient Artifacts, and Raid loot, none of which are available in this preview.

    Item Power Levels

Items follow the CC Curve. CC will also be adjusted so players can craft levels 31 and 32 shards again. This will use existing shard ingredients so if you had some crafted before you'll be able to add them now.

Yes, this means that CC at level 32 will have higher ilevels than level 31 quest items from Isle of Dread. As an item's min level increases, its power level also increases.

Raid items and Minor Artifacts will continue to get a boost in their effective power levels. This means that raid loot at level 31 will be better than CC loot at level 32, with Minor Artifacts being better than raid loot.

    Pirate Stuff

These items will drop fully realized in dungeons. This means they'll have a name, a theme, effects, and a specific appearance. Very much standard named loot here. My goal with these items is 1 brand new affix per item, which I know for a fact I won't get to finish but its good to have goals.

There will be 5 main sets in Isle of Dread and 1 overall set - think like Ravenloft here. The goal of these sets is to provide meaningful alternatives to Sharn and Ravenloft's 3pc sets. Each 3pc set will contain an Armor (or docent), a helmet, and a cloak - this is partially because this way we can match art assets together. There is also a larger set like the Adherent of the Mists set in Ravenloft, anything else not in the 5 main sets will be here.

In Legendary, each Pirate item will have one Dinosaur Bone augment slot (see below for details).

    Augments

Level 32 augments are going to be added to global treasure tables, and a subsection of those will be available for trade with Randall Lyric for Isle of Dread ingredients (Randall will also trade level 8 augments for Isle of Dread ingredients, as some of you may have guessed). There will also be new named augments in Isle of Dread that drop as treasure which will be minimum level 30. These augments are not in this preview.

    Artifacts

Artifacts in this content pack will be level 31 have 4 max Filigree slots, which means if you haven't found a Perfected artifact you'll soon be able to use a variety of alternatives.

    Dino Crafting

As you explore Isle of Dread you'll collect Isle of Dread ingredients (such as fossilized dinosaur teeth). You can use these to craft Isle of Dread augments. Isle of Dread augments only go into Isle of Dread augment slots. There are 5 main types of augments: Fang, Scale, Horn, Teeth, and Set Bonus (okay that last one is a little meta but it really is just a set bonus slot).

Blanks consist of all weapon types, all shield types, helmets, cloaks, and all armor types (yes, including docent). Here's how the spread of slots shakes out:

The Set Bonus slot allows you to put that item into one of the 5 Isle of Dread set bonuses. This means that you can theoretically have that set bonus with all 3 of your items being dino bone crafted. Or none, and you just use standalone items, or a mix - totally up to you.

Augments will clearly state which "version" of the slot they're in. For example, this means that yes, there are 3 types of Scale Slot (armor, weapon, and regular) but this denotation will appear in the augment slots display and the augment's description to help prevent confusion.

To craft augments, think like Slavers - you turn many disparate ingredients into a standalone augment and then slot those directly. Unlike Slavers, this will use the new augment system, so there will be both unslotters and destroyers available (unlike previous crafting systems which, once done, were permanent).

The bonuses available are split by slot type - this means that Scale (Weapon) will have a different set of options than Scale (Armor) or Fang (Weapon) and so on.

This crafting system only exists in legendary! At level 7 (the level of heroic isle of dread's items) you'll just be finding the pirate stuff.

Anyway, that's the overview. Please feel free to explore all of the loot available during this preview and let me know what you think!

    Known Issues and Important Notes:
    • Raid Loot is not included in this preview
    • Quest Augments are not included in this preview
    • Several Dino Bone augments have incomplete or incorrect descriptions
    • Certain ingredients have the wrong icons
    • Minor Artifacts are not included in this preview
    • All armor, robe, outfit, cloak, and helmet art is not in this preview (weapons and shields are!)

Will there be items and bonuses with legendary versions for summons?

Please add Hot Tar Guard to the armor options list!

    Fits theme very well!

    What would it be?

Minor fire damage over time plus sticky goo guard slowing effect!
