Probably not until the cap comes to rest again at 40. Then we'll see a slow increase of power creep at cap until they're ready to raise the cap again, then it will be 'reset' in order to open up more design space without making it completely untenable to play without named gear from the latest expansion. But we'll still be killing rats and spiders the level of deities.

Heroic items can remain without the designation, but we should have consistency with what Heroic/Epic/Legendary mean within the game.

Not only the items, but letting level 20 characters do epic challenges instead of 21+, finding a way to give out Epic Defensive Fighting at 20 instead of 21. It is a bit odd here though as you are effectively Epic Level 0 at character level 20.

All information is subject to change

But I believe the official word as of right now, given by lyn, was that they have their new numbers by levels scale, and short of specific cases (end game raid / event loot occasionally having effective level scaling of +1 or +2) that all loot going forward would follow the new curve. This (along with the original stat crunch in the first place) was done to staple stat values to specific character levels, specifically to avoid the very thing you just proposed. They did the damage once, knowing full well it would be....bad....but knowing it was one bullet to bite now, and never again. I'm sure they don't want to go through that backlash again either. So I doubt they'll decide to change their minds lightly.

If my memory serves me correctly, they said that the previous numbers seen on loot would almost certainly never appear again, as their values on the level curve corresponded with...This is just from memory but I think it was level ~ mid 50s. Though Lyn said something like "I'll revisit this again if the game lasts long enough for the level cap to get there"

When level 32 gear is released, numbers will go up compared to lv 30 gear.
But we should not expect to see numbers go up again until lv 33 gear is released.

This would be a fantastic change, and I'd love to see it happen. Having different versions of items be visually distinct, and also more unified in presentation across similar items always goes a long way for me.

Works for me! All for increasing the consistency within the game.
I feel like the item icons have a lot of untapped potential in DDO. It's been suggested before but some way of showing the augment slots and whether they're filled or not on the icon would be super amazing. Either overlayed on the corner as coloured filled/empty circles or embedded into the corners of the border. If you're going for all the cookies then finding a way to show the mythic/reaper boosts would be so awesome, ideas could be a different background color, special border decoration / embellishment or my favourite (and most far fetched) animated icons in some way, like a shimmer/sheen/glint type thing.

After around Update 23, it no longer works on Orange named enemies. No mention on Release Notes (stealth nerf).
As of Update 29, the effect that does 50% hit point damage no longer functions in Legendary (CR31+) quests or raids (Legendary Ward prevents it).

Crafted items cannot gain Sentience leaving this item effect virtually unused.

It would be nice to see an effect like this on other items or as an augment.

Good idea. It still wonders to me why finished LGS and THforged weapons, ones that have tier3 added already, can't become sentientable? I understand the ones that aren't finished, or from cannith crafting, because you could add what you wanted, or clean up the weapon and add something to match the filigree(after all, cannith essences are cheaper than sentience gear). If the weapon is finished, can't be cleared or undo any of the tiers then why can't it accept sentient?

That would make everyone really mad for no reason, so no.

Sweet! Sounds like most people here are largely in favor of this, so I'll probably try to get this done for some future Lamannia preview before the release - that way if it turns out to be a terrible idea, I can revert everything before it goes live.

The idea is good, but could you pls pick some other color for legendary? The current red is too close to the orange used on raid items.

The only time we really need a quick indicator on an item is in the ASAH if it is a lootgen with a slot. That said, having different border colors would help with inventory mules. How about Light blue for levels 1-10, darker blue for 11-20, epic--purple, legendary: red.

Then you have the issue of special (raid etc) items and named items and how that plays into things. An orange border has a relationship with red, not blue. A green border would make sense as a special blue border. Just thinking out loud as to how to differentiate raid and named items...

Gold would be a nice option for legendary. It's different enough from both red and orange and visually distinctive.

From an accessibility perspective, would that be acceptable?

I find blue rather boring, personally.

Anyway, the colour doesn't matter much to me - I don't even see any need to use different colours at all. Apart from the Raid colours.

The only wish I have is - to have in a few cases a better distinction between "named loot" and not named loot. What I mean with this is that there still exists heroic named loot which has no blue background (Deleras Vestment, for example).
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

Let me also pitch: You should apply a color matched tint of between 1-5% for Raid items.

I support both these changes (names and colors). That being said, the legendary red and the raid orange are indeed too similar as is.

Great idea give TF & LGS a path to upgrade completed weapons to accept sentient

I'd just keep 29+ Legendary. The playerbase that's actually going to stick around after a pointless cap increase, won't care.

I agree that Mortal Fear needs fixing, but TBH with Thunderforged not taking Jewels, most of us don't use them at that level.
