Default Rename legendary <>item to Epic Item

With all the level 30+ content coming soon, shouldn't all the Legendary <Item> be renamed to Epic <Item>

after the reblanacing of all the gear to lvl 29, presumable none of that is going to change so it's new stats are all epic, not legendary range

This is something I am seriously considering doing for the release of Update 55: Isle of Dread! I'd love to hear from you all if this would be a worthwhile endeavor. It would also include changing border colors such that heroic = blue and epic = purple across the board, leaving red for legendary. My thinking was it would help set different leveled versions of the same item apart, visually. That being said, I'd love to hear feedback on if this would be a good idea!

    Default Continuity

There are still some items which lack colored borders to indicate that they are epic, an example of this would be Epic Brawn's Spirit.

It would be great if there was continuity across the board for items and their borders!

While you are considering this change, would you also consider updating the Thunderforged item effect Mortal Fear?

Mortal Fear: On Hit: 8 to 64 Force Damage. In addition, 5% chance to cut non-boss foe's current health in half.

After around Update 23, it no longer works on Orange named enemies. No mention on Release Notes (stealth nerf).
As of Update 29, the effect that does 50% hit point damage no longer functions in Legendary (CR31+) quests or raids (Legendary Ward prevents it).

Crafted items cannot gain Sentience leaving this item effect virtually unused.

It would be nice to see an effect like this on other items or as an augment.

While I'm not entirely clear what makes something epic or legendary, standardized colors would be really nice, for the aforementioned items, but also denoting reaper items! Would be way more exciting to see in chest than having to mouse over and check out what a thing is.

I like this idea. It would also be super helpful to have a visual indicator on weapons and artifacts that have a sentient gem or filigree slotted. I occasionally have to hover over all my weapons to find where I've slotted my gems.

Bonus points if the visual indicator also denotes the number of slots available and if the bank/inventory allows searching for "sentient slotted weapons". I'd also love BtA and BtC filters in character inventory.

I would be all for setting lvl 30+ items as Legendary and 20-29 as epic.

Makes perfect sense to do this. But now that I think about it, is it really needed? All s/s/s are epic and legendary already. So it would be just be for the lawful alignment’s sake.

Edit: going to answer my own question by saying I do like the colored borders for differentiating gear into different inventory tabs quickly. You will have some legendary quests dropping epic loot but “shrugs.”

    Default Stat Inflation Again?

Is there going to be stat inflation again? Followed a few years later by another painful stat squish? I hope history is not repeating itself.

I would like the lvl 29 and up stuff to remain "legendary", but everything under that could be "Epic". Although its easier for search/sort purposes if the "epic" stuff is lower level.

Seems logical and reasonable. Sounds good to me. Is it a lot of work renaming/changing border colors? Will we need to reacquire anything?

Shouldn't Plaid be narrated by someone in Spaceballs? Rick Moranis or Bill Pullman? Sadly not John Candy.

I will always support the work that goes into making DDO feel more consistent. I know it can't always be top priority, but it is always appreciated.

Why? Legendary starts at level 28. We didn't have renaming of Epic items when level cap was raised from 20 to 25, or from 25 to 28.

While that makes some sense, I am convinced William Shatner is the most plaid being in the entire multiverse.

I think this makes good sense. I don't like the current inconsistency of Legendary being some of the 28 gear, some of the 29 gear.

Also, for event weapons, can you add the extra damage inside the parenthesis so that they are on par with other weapons at their level?

    Thanks!

Why not just have a new designation?

I view the legendary 28 & 29 gear like the old wonderous items being legendary lvl but useable for lower level
