Default ddo client not saving settings & not writting to user preferences

ive been troubleshooting this for a week. ive read other threads and tried thier tips and nothing has worked. ive even totally uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it still will not remember my settings or severs. everytime i log in it pops up the direct x 11 dialog and then i have to exit out of the warforged intro movie and then im blared out with the audio and in im fullscreen which i hate. none of my setting stick and ive checked the user preferences file and it does not write to it to show when i have logged in so idk what is going on there is nothing blocking it from being able to read or write to the user preference file im at my wits end please someone help me figure this out. im beyond sick and tired of resetting my video and audio settings every day. and yes i have windows 10 and before it started doing this it would loose my log in info but i got it to remember that finally but i cant get it to keep my settings.

get your settings where you want them

Run DDO as admin -> right click -> run as admin -- get your settings all in line, then esc -> exit - **DO NOT CLOSE THE GAME WITH THE X IN THE CORNER.** It will not save your settings unless you esc -> exit

then after that, don't bother opening as admin anymore unless you want to adjust your settings again

did a total uninstall and total clean install of the game at someone else suggestion. then i tried this and nope it did not work. the above suggestion also did not work. also the client is not remembering my username anymore either.

after a week of trouble shooting every tip i sound on threads here and several reinstalls from the install from the doo website which constantly failed to solve the problem here is the ONLY solution that worked. I backed my computer up using the windows recovery options to go back to 4/22/2022 way before i install lamina. in doing so it did not properly put ddo back as it needed to be HOWEVER i grabbed an OLD installer from 2019 to reinstall ddo. GUESS WHAT now everything is back normal and works great. verdict. the current installer on the site does not properly install. also i will never again install lamania i can wait for stuff to come out i will not let it mess up my client ever again. if anyone else is having this problem try to roll back to a time it was working and if that dont work try reinstalling it with a older installer if you can find it the one i used had the old akami net session included in it and it worked great.
